This is an older, quaint property (and we loved that) which was well stiuatated, lovley view with nice grounds and sections of woods along a beck / creek to walk. Staff were outstanding, food was excellent, the room was comforatable and honestly my wife and I felt that of all the hotels we stayed in (similar to this) on our trip, this was by far the best. Having read some of the reviews that complained that rooms were a bit "run down" well honestly you could go to a modern hotel if you want all new, this is an older property, and its well looked after but it is old. However we had absolutely no complaints and nothing bad to say.

The staff were very welcoming, friendly, humourous and helpful making us feel relaxed. Perfect location to explore different summits and lakes in the area.
Romantic getaway, little two bed, two bath barn conversion with amazing views and parking offers accommodations in Ambleside, 6.3 miles from World of Beatrix Potter and 10 miles from Lake Windermere.
In 4 acres of lawns and tended gardens, the elegant Keswick Country House Hotel is only a 5-minute walk from the center of Keswick. The restaurant offers fine dining and lovely garden views.
The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes located in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, like trekking, bird watching, and cycling.
Of course the location is the very best. As an experienced mountain hiker I have stayed in many mountain lodges and such. This hotel was en epic experience. That is if you are looking for overnight stay with proper food and drink and a nice bed, but isn`t to much into luxurious rooms and high class restaurants. The proprietor was an amazing and serviceminded fellow.
Obviously the location was perfect, for a work/leisure trip it was more than perfect. The bus service at the bottom the drive added to the opportunity to not having to drive, the bus service was on time every time and good value for money. It helped as a good alternative to get to good hiking locations without having to think about parking. Accomodation was comfortable with lovely staff.
The location is perfect for walking and trekking. Hotel is surround with hills and waterfalls. Breakfast was brilliant. We were upgrade for family room for free. The bar is nice with a good food. Atmosphere was friendly.
Brilliant location in the Lakes countryside with excellent views - an old building but room comfortable with modernised bathroom. Seemed a bit understaffed but the staff there worked hard and did a good job.
Lovely spacious and quiet room, beautiful grounds surrounding the hotel and perfect location for hiking. A hearty breakfast. Parking on site. The adjoining pub was a bonus for a cold pint and something to eat after a long day hiking the hills. Other than some hiccups with the meals and the housekeeping, we enjoyed our stay.
