Breakfast was amazing. Room was comfortable and view was spectacular. We had room service every night as we wanted to eat with our dogs and the food and service was brilliant. Dogs can go with you to a dining room but our dogs prefer their own company. The Christmas decor was so beautiful too. We loved our stay.

A cosy country house that was beautifully appointed to fit in with the era when Beatrix Potter lived there! The meals were exquisite. Richard, owner and chef, produced wonderful meals! Thoroughly recommend both the hotel and food! Bedroom was lovely and bed comfortable. The hotel was warm and staff very friendly and helpful.

Fabulous location as a base for exploring the area - plenty of walks to start and finish at the Lodge. Breakfast provided a great start to the day and certainly kept us going past normal lunch. We stayed in the 16th Century part of the Lodge, so be prepared for quirky - and sloping floors!
Located in Ambleside in the Cumbria region, Romantic getaway, little two bed, two bath barn conversion with amazing views and parking has a patio.

It's in a fantastic location with amazing views over the valley. It's a great base for walking and sightseeing, with lots of options and bus routes really close by. The property, although small, is well equipped and furnished.
The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes based in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, such as trekking, birdwatching and cycling.
Decent sized room, heating worked, so could dry my clothes after a wet day of hiking. Resturant/Pub downstairs with decent food selection. Breakfast was good in the morning
Hostel is 40 min walk from main road, in the spectacular mountains, on the hiking path to Helwellyn. Breakfast was good and bed was comfortable. Ideal for walkers.
We were welcomed very friendly, and although the room wasn't ready yet we could leave the luggage safely behind the reception counter. The area is great, we did not expect to be so close to the mountain hiking area. A nice atmosphere and YHA has a nice dinner and breakfast offer.
Breakfast was excellent. Excellent eggs Benedict . Accommodation was very comfortable. Mattress and linen luxurious. Bathroom large and comfortable with heater towel rack. Nice size bath. Views and location were superb.
The hostel is situated in an old building near an old mine in a beautiful location with many picturesque walks nearby. The staff are friendly and hospitable while the hostel itself is very clean. The facilities (dining room, showers, kitchen, toilets etc.) are enough for everyone and it does not get crowded. It is quiet and peaceful and the beds are comfortable.
Beautiful lounge, including bird watching area, nature around, bus to the door, great hiking in area.
Very helpful and chatty staff.
Good kitchen space
Good showers
