Find the country houses that appeal to you the most
Looking for a country house?
The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes based in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, such as trekking, birdwatching and cycling.
Lovely quiet location, close to the bus stop and there was a lovely view of the garden and surrounding countryside from the window. Comfy bed and the room was very clean.
My Fiancé and I booked the Garden Rooms as a little getaway to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday. We absolutely loved our stay. The room and garden were perfect, so quiet and peaceful. The room was spotless. And the Garden looks beautiful with the lights on at night. Sally left everything we needed for the weekend, including a welcome package, beverages, and whiskey. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will return again on our next trip to Edinburgh.
Stayed here with my husband and son, in the lap of luxury! Definitely worth every penny paid, for the tasteful decor, luxurious beds, well-equipped kitchen, complimentary pastries and coffee in the gorgeous lounge. Ideal location in the centre of Edinburgh's new town, near the tram, near the shops and restaurants, but also very peaceful and quiet.
Fab old country house , very peaceful and only 15 mins from airport and centre. A bit of luxury at very affordable price.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Beds were so comfy that i intentionally stayed longer in bed to enjoy it.
And Cocktail Bar - a real treat at the end of the day. A must “see and experience“ place in the hotel.
Very large and luxurious bedrooms with great beds; fantastic freshly cooked breakfast and very friendly owners. Located in a very peaceful and quiet environment, and still close enough to Edinburgh and Rosslyn Chapel. Several eating options nearby. And very nice to meet the farm horses!
It was equivalent to a room in a luxury hotel at great value for money. It was scrupulously clean, freshly decorated, the bed was very comfortable. There were tea/coffee making facilities, bath gel, shampoo etc, hairdryer, even iron and ironing board. The surroundings were quiet and peaceful. The hosts friendly and kind. A very safe environment for a solo traveller. A short walk from the main road where there are busies to and from central Edinburgh. I would go back anytime and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends.
The most wonderful place to stay. Staff were amazing from start to finish. Very helpful and clearly well trained. The decor throughout was beautiful - a mix of brass and polished wood reminiscent of grand voyages, and art nouveau. Tasteful yet practical. I would thoroughly recommend a stay. It was quiet, peaceful and luxurious. No boat rocking at all.
central location but quiet and peaceful. nice airy apartment with everything I needed and lovely choice of colours and finish. felt quite luxurious!
