Rectory Manor, hotel in Bury Saint Edmunds

Around 4 miles from Sudbury, Rectory Manor offers provides elegant rooms with beautiful garden views. With a swimming pool and tennis court, it also offers free parking and Wi-Fi.

Everything was perfect, from the moment of our welcome, the manner of the staff (present, but not too present), the unexpected room upgrade, to the most romantic moment of my life in front of the epic fireplace that we had to ourselves for our one night stay. Oh and breakfast was awesome too. The room surpasses description - I could wax lyrical about the free standing bath and four poster bed, but it was truly made by the early advent sun pouring in from the east through all the windows in the morning. For a spontaneous stop-off en route home after visiting friends, it was altogether unforgettable.

Was a lovely quiet hotel with a little bit of luxury. Food was great. Staff really nice & friendly. Very hard working. Great that the weather was warm enough to use the outdoor pool. Building full of history. Had a room in the main building which was great with a very comfortable four poster bed.

Lovely house, well equipped and modernised. Comfortable and clean. Luxury of having 2 ensuite bedrooms! Great location, just 5 min walk from the centre of town, but on a quiet street. Host Kathryn was helpful, there were a few niggles and she did her best to sort them out.

Lovely rooms, recently refurbished and a little bit of luxury which was nice. The rooms are in a separate building from the pub so it was beautifully quiet. Nice to have a nespresso machine in the room, too. Breakfast was good.

The hotel is currently up for sale, and is not staffed. However, clear instructions as to how to get into the hotel and our room were provided, and the room [a family one with two adjoining bedrooms] was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Free-standing bath in main bedroom, and lovely big shower in adjoining bathroom. Quiet and peaceful. Currently no bar / breakfast offered, but as we were advised about this in advance it did not matter, especially as the hotel is a very short walk from the centre of town.

The room was spacious and very clean looking. So beautifully quiet and peaceful The hotel staff were extremely kind, helpful and efficient. The hotel is a large manor house - it looked amazing! Plenty of space for parking. A countryside setting with very little passing traffic I had a full english breakfast which was superb!

EVERYTHING! From the minute we arrived to the minute we left everything was perfect. All staff friendly, welcoming, helpful and efficient. Loved the location near everything but also quiet opposite Abbey Gardens. The rooms are luxurious and very warm, big comfy beds, spotlessly clean, all you could want provided. Free easy parking just outside door. Every member of staff we met made our stay so lovely. Great room, bar and restaurant. Food first class, fresh, hot, plenty of choice. It was a shame we had to leave! Could get used to such luxury!
