Rectory Manor is around 15 miles from Bury St Edmunds, and 20 miles from Ipswich, where attractions include Christchurch Mansion, New Wolsey Theatre and the Ipswich Transport Museum. Gainsborough’s House in Sudbury, the artist’s former home, is around 10 minutes’ drive away. Lovely bedroom comfy bed, with a claw foot tub in the bathroom, fantastic conversations with hosts and staff, great breakfast, successful car charge, we swam and played tennis, and a little piano too! Next time we will be staying more than one night!
Bury Saint Edmunds
Set in Suffolk countryside, Ravenwood Hall is just off the A14 motorway, providing easy access to Ipswich, Newmarket and Cambridge. Thetford Forest can be reached in just 20 minutes’ drive, and Newmarket Racecourse is 30 minutes away. Really nice staff, beautiful house and garden

What a gem. Very friendly, polite, helpful and efficient owners Kay and Doug. Started with a personal welcome notice outside directing me to personal car parking space. Very comfortable spacious room. Very quiet and peaceful house, garden and neighbourhood, nicely located for a variety of attractions. Lovely breakfast. Would give it 100% with a distinction.

Good sized accommodation, with partial sea view from upstairs main bedroom. Accessible and sufficient parking with easy access to property. Property was clean and kitchen had all required utensils. Shower was always warm and powerful. Very quiet surroundings and peaceful - good location to visit other beaches along the coast and tourist attractions (with a car). Swimming pool was well maintained and warm. Large grass area to play badminton. Neighbours and park owners were friendly. Very relaxing stay.

The room was spacious and very clean looking. So beautifully quiet and peaceful The hotel staff were extremely kind, helpful and efficient. The hotel is a large manor house - it looked amazing! Plenty of space for parking. A countryside setting with very little passing traffic I had a full english breakfast which was superb!

EVERYTHING! From the minute we arrived to the minute we left everything was perfect. All staff friendly,welcoming,helpful and efficient. Loved the location near everything but also quiet opposite Abbey Gardens. The rooms are luxurious and very warm, big comfy beds,spotlessly clean, all you could want provided. Free easy parking just outside door. Every member of staff we met made our stay so lovely. Great room, bar and restaurant. Food first class, fresh, hot, plenty of choice. It was a shame we had to leave! Could get used to such luxury!
