Pacho and Fabiola have built three cozy cabins on their farm just a few minutes outside of the quite charming town of Guasca. The lodgings are comfortable, well-equipped, and perfectly located for exploring the surrounding paramo, which was largely why I had come there. Even so, the highlight of my stay was getting to know this very smart and accomplished couple; Pacho is a retired professor and Fabiola is a hard-hitting independent journalist and editor. They are true Colombian intellectuals, with lots of knowledge to share about everything from contemporary Colombian politics to culture, wildlife and coffee (we conversed in Spanish). Although I only stayed two nights, by the time I left I had truly made new friends--certainly the next time I am in the Bogotá area I will be making an effort to go and stay with them again.

Jesus gave us a nice tour of the reserve and helped us get the fireplace going at night. Recommend driving to the property in daylight in high clearance vehicle. Property in the high mountains at more than 3000 meters above sea level.

Everything is amazing, the place, the house was cozy, food was super, customer service was also very impressive. Everybody is super helpful when you ask or need something. Guys at the reception are super nice and also people at the restaurant.

a beautiful, unique house completely surrounded by nature, in walking distance of the chingaza park (highly recommend to visit while you’re here, the posada can recommend a wonderful guide). ana is a dear and made us feel right at home, and the food was delicious. we loved the quiet and the coziness, relaxing in the lounge by the big fireplace and playing in the garden with the adorable doggies.
