We had difficulty locating the property & eventually called the proprietor. She had a good idea where we were, she said to stay put & was there to meet us in a few min. I don’t think our gps would have found this location, got us close but that’s all.
Stairs to climb to the chalet so suggesting you travel light.
Learned the closest restaurant is a 20 min drive & since it was already getting dark we were concerned to find the place in the darkness & also do the winding narrow roads we stayed put. Suggest you have something you can prepare but again if you do want to go out, plan for this restaurant cause it is an excellent suggestion as we learned the following am. . This place is called Sao Leonardo,
Following AM we drove there hoping to find breakfast but no they have a later opening. BUT….again kindness & the owner put together a delicious sandwich & we sat out on the patio taking in the gorgeous view. Further up the road is the best lookout & you can drive to it (also suggested by women where we stayed.) Miradouro de Sao Leonardo in Galafura, I’m certain this view is what appears in tour guide books, so beautiful,
Other suggestions made but we felt we’d seen the best & did not want to do any Port cellar tours.

I stayed in many places. I have never met expensive coffee machines, sound bars with subwoofers, and collectible vintage radios for guests.
All kitchenware matches by color. Complimentary cake, fruits and Porto vine are offered. Places and where to eat recommendations are printed. The host is amazing. Everything is made with love.

EVERYTHING! Our only regret is that we only booked the villa for one night ☹️!! The accommodations were perfect; spotless and contained everything we would need. The view was spectacular! Bright sun with acres and acres of terraced vineyards to view right outside our balcony. Joanna, the staff person on the premises, answered our every question and even provided us with ideas for two short hikes. We took the longer one of about 2 hours which looped us through the vineyards where we even saw the grapes being harvested by hand. Breakfast was hand delivered to our door and right in time. Well worth it!!!

Perfect for a couple and really appreciated the Welcome Basket. It set us up nicely for our first night. The freshly delivered bread was also a nice treat. Sonia & Tiago we’re great hosts. The view from the front door must have come right out of the Douro Valley tour books.

Spectacular new country home, perched above a small town 15 minutes from Régua, with breathtaking views of the Douro vineyards. Great heated pool and tastefully decorated house. Very friendly owner Patricia, who provided generous Portuguese breakfast and excellent restaurant and sightseeing suggestions.

My family just loved our 4-night stay at this cozy, authentic and vaguely rustic country B&B. It’s a great jumping-off location for exploring the best port & wines the Douro Valley has to offer. Owned by a countess and run by a slightly salty & funny manager, we felt right at home. The pool was just big enough and a magnet for the kids, and the variety of flowers, plants and foliage festooning the property was stunning. Hope to return soon.
The view is amazing! Margarida and her brother, Luis, are very kind and helpful. Margarida had great suggestions for places to dine and she makes a delicious breakfast! I loved the grounds of the property, the pool, and the spaciousness of the bungalow I stayed in. I was feeling ill and slept on the sofa bed to keep my friend from getting sick, and was very comfortable there. I will definitely stay here again and recommend Casa Do Romezel to friends.
The building has been beautifully restored and the room is full of character and charm. The pool area is lovely, and there is an Intermarche with easy access next door - we also parked the car there. Anna that checked us in and looked after us was absolutely lovely. The whole building is decorated with beautiful and interesting touches - I will stay here again for sure :)
Lovely old building/mansion that has been thoughtfully restored. High ceilings, charm, attentive staff. This is rated as a 2-Star hotel, but that seems ridiculous. It is beautiful and charming. Not cr than nearby four star hotels.
The hosts were super efficient, polite and warm. we talked on the phone a lot:)). The house is beautiful, super cosy and big. The view is amazing, the balcony is totally charming and the village is from a movie.
Beautifully restored heritage property with comfortable beds and good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. A must stay for anyone visiting Regua. Get a balcony room if possible.
