The house has a modern interior complete with all the creature comforts (including a full kitchen, washer, satellite TV, AC, Wi-Fi). The host left a complimentary bottle of local red wine and water as welcome gifts. We could enter the house using a key stored in a convenient lock box and the host met us to show us the ins and outs of the home. The location centers you in the rural countryside of the Barroso region with downtown Montalegre a <10 min drive away with a castle and regional museum (both free!), shops, and restaurants. Closer to the house is access to the lake at Travassos da Chã, which we took advantage of to beat the afternoon summer heat. It’s also a short drive to Serra da Larouco (second highest point in Portugal, and you can drive to the top!), and Chaves (founded by Rome). Don’t miss the quick drive to Baltar, Spain, to try Octopus Galician style (pulpo a la gallego).

A trip to Tourem is like time travel. It is mesmerising, out of this world. Casa de Campo Gracinda is a typical village
natural stone house, restored to high and very tasteful standard. The rooms are warm and cosy with great on-suite
facilities. The kitchen and lounge is very well equipped and comfortable. Unforunately our trip was accompanied by
bad and cold weather, but the house was warm cosy and made more then up for it.

Beautiful location. Truly incredible views. It was very clean. Hostess was very accommodating. We would have loved to stay longer. If we are ever fortunate enough to return yo this area, would stay here again.

The separation between the other two cabins on the quinta. The cabin was spacious and very clean. The bed was confortable. The pool and bbq area was nicely setup for entertaining. I appreciated the cooking utensils being readily available and the clean grill grate which had no rust. The fireplace was ready to go with firewood and had extra for the long nights. The 55" TV smart tv with was nice to have to watch music videos to help set the mood for the evening.
Spectacular living room for groups and great outdoors space. Good size bedrooms, warm and cozy. Kitchen well equipped. There is WiFi available and it was pretty stable for working.
Wow, what a brilliantly remote location! Fantastic food, fantastic location, fantastic hosts. Very welcoming. Room was really cosy, warm and robust against the relentless storm. Excellent location for hill walking, mountain biking (and watching the rain come down). Swimming pool looked very special, alas the weather was against us!
One of the most spectacular scenic settings of any hotel I’ve ever visited- the view out of our bungalow’s glass doorway was unparalleled. And the scenery is matched by the warmth of the owner-hostess, Fernanda: she made us feel so welcome and looked after, insisting we take sandwiches on the super hike she suggested we take to the next door village, Pitoes de Junias. Dinner was also delicious (especially the homemade cured sausage) and we loved feeling so close to the village, which still seems home to many local people who farm the land.
The property was super cozy and incredibly well-located in a small traditional village in Gerês.
The house offered both a fireplace and aircon which made the winter stay very nice.
The beds were very confy.
