This property is so unique but also so impressive.
The host was super helpful with my partner as he was planning to propose to me.
Although the photos are great on the listing, you really need to see the place to appreciate how fantastic it is.
We will definitely be returning, I think the best place I’ve ever stayed.

The house was perfect for our family with a shop and bus stop within walking distance. The suburb of Dalkeith was a short drive away with a beautiful park and a larger supermarket. We enjoyed being slightly outside the main center and a 25 minute drive into the city if needed. I really can't fault it at all. Thank you for the hospitality and wonderful communication.
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
honestly, there was so much I loved from the scenery, the cleanliness, and the comfortable feeling as if you were in your own home. we had our own car, but we also had the opportunity to take a train into Edinburgh Central, which wasn't far at all. overall, it's a fantastic cottage, and we will definitely be visiting again. hopefully, on a longer term.
The accommodation was perfectly fine and we got a welcome basket on arrival which was very nice. There's plenty of storage space and it's got a cozy vibe to it. It's perfectly pleasant for a couple of days.
Fantastic little cottage in private grounds, with plenty of space. We travelled with a dog,and there was plenty of space for her to run around.
Just a few minutes walk up to the railway station which goes every hour into Edinburgh, way cheaper than driving in and parking.
Great communication from the hosts, and would thoroughly recommend Highfield Cottage for anyone wishing to have a break in or around Edinburgh.
no breakfast, as self catering, Owners were lovely, cottage excellent we even tried to book an extra night but it was already booked. Will definitely be back as also pet friendly will bring our cat next time. Perfectly located in a very quiet area, brilliant for a wee trip to my relatives in Broxburn, and to visit my Dad in his care home in Edinburgh. Rooms very spacious more than we needed, brilliant comfy cosy bed. Loved the wood-burning stove in the lounge. Nice modern Kitchen with all the amenities. Great stay.
The cottage is so well equipped, comfortable and homely, the surrounding gardens and grounds make this little gem an idyllic alternative to other accommodations that are on the market. Ideally located and with great commuter links to wider Scotland.
I was sat at one of the windows of the cottage admiring the views and watching the wonderful array of birds that are busy at this time of year. Peaceful and relaxing, l highly recommend. I hope to visit again soon.
Lovely cottage with modern appliances. Lovely quiet location whilst also not being to far away from the city and the airport. I would highly recommend Highfield Cottage.
