The Aaarvark Bioreserve was a last-minute find for my fiance and me who were looking to escape the hectic world and relax. For me and my partner, the Klein Karoo is a special place to escape, and Aaarvark just made it even better. With a stunning private cottage, luxurious accommodations, a hot tub under the karoo sky, and outstanding service, everything is just perfect. You can use fresh produce from the large vegetable garden, and Aneli made us some delicious vet koek and fig jam. Don't forget to order your karoo meat directly from Aneli. Nothing like karoo lamb chops, ostrich wors on a braai in the karoo while watching the Curry Cup rugby. The staff were so friendly and professional, and nothing was too much trouble.
It is a wonderful experience to take a walk on the many trails, especially when you see the beautiful animals that are privileged to live here. We cannot wait to visit again soon.

We didn't really stay in the village but I wish we had booked longer to stay at the lodge. I would definitely like to go back when temperatures are a bit cooler so I can do the hikes they offer during the day. The landscape there is amazing!
Wonderfully laid out with breathtaking views over the vineyards towards the mountains. Stunning central bar/dining area - great architecture and comfortable space.
The highlight however where the owners and Penny and Andy and their excellent staff who truly made one feel welcome and at home. Delightful conversations over fine wine and a delicious three course meal. This is an absolute must for anyone travelling through the area around Cango Caves and Ladismith.
Very nice chalet with fully equipped kitchen, large and comfortable kingsize bed and a nice bathtub, pretty peaceful surrounding with hiking trails, beautiful view from the terrace, nice fireplace and sitting area, good WiFi, TV with Sharescreen-option, not far to Ladismith, bowl of grapes for welcome, kind host!
Great value, great location, and superb hospitality from Debi and Eugene.
The burgers for dinner, as well as the breakfast, were delicious. If ever I find myself back in Ladismith, Koedoeskloof will be my first choice!
