Lovely spacious, well equipped, comfortable & quiet accommodation on the outskirts of the town. Great braai area & wi-fi. Aircon was appreciated when it was still 30deg C when we went to bed the 2nd night. Sue is a lovely, friendly hostess. We will definitely book again next time we visit Calitzdorp.

Karoo Nest was a very comfortable overnight stay. Communication was good. Easy to find.

The rock formations are spectacular and unique to this area, with a striking red colour. The hills glow pink and red in the early morning light, in the hour before sunrise. The night sky is joy to behold, with little ambient light to spoil the view.

IF you are doing Route 62, this is the place to stay.
IF you are doing Route 62, this is the place to stay. Situated on a farm just a short distance from the main road but far enough away that the road does not bother you. Excellent stay over and could be a romantic stay for a newly married couple. Self catering or B&B, you cannot go wrong. The Coffee Shop on the main road serves excellent breakfast and is in a lovely setting and also teaches and sells the wares of the local women who learn a trade in the barn structure behind the Coffee Shop. Some excellent goodies on sale at the shop.
If your stay is longer than overnight, then you can walk the farm, see the animals and buck and enjoy being out in nature. The original farmstead is the oldest working farm in the district and the accommodation I stayed in was in the old cow stall. The main house also has a few rooms in it as well.
