Rooms were clean and extremely comfortable. Reception were kind, professional and very helpful with tours and bus booking, could not fault them.
The young blokes working as bar staff at the hotels bar were exceptionally amazing. Incredibly friendly, social and fun, I went in for one drink and ended up drinking, singing and playing cards for hours. They deserve a raise.

On this trip through Cambodia and Vietnam my parent and i, stayed in a total of 7 hotels and one luxury 3 night cruise. These were all good hotels but Le Close Du Fil were the top of the list! What a great establishment. The staff were amazing the whole place oozes charm, attrition to detail and comfort in abundance- we loved it!! 🥰

Boat ride in Tam Coc far more enjoyable and laid back than Trang An and they rowed with feet vs. hands! Super cool. Take a bicycle to scout around--flat mainly. Go with supervised tour to the locations around the area since they are spread out. If you wing it it will probably cost you more time and $.

There is just so much to see and do, give yourself plenty of...
There is just so much to see and do, give yourself plenty of time so that you can enjoy the attractions without having to rush around to cram everything in. We only managed two of the major attractions, Bai Dinh Temple (I would recommend giving yourself at least 1 full day for this) and Trang An Complex, a whole morning or afternoon.

Did get a sense that there is a list of tourist attractions to tick off. All over developed and a theme park vibe but maybe that is just most tourism? Trang An boat trip is worth doing. Use Grab app for taxis to get about, very reliable, no need for organised tours. Town of Tam Coc not to everyone’s taste! Makes you feel you arrived too late.

Can't miss Ninh Binh. Its a great addition to your trip. We did 2 nights which allowed us to see the massive Bai Dinh Buddhist complex.
We did the Trang An paddling. We took the one with a 1km long cave! Was great.
Mua Cave was a lovely walk with great views.

Located in a quiet and cute area. The village is nice, and the homestay located just by the water. Most Ninh Binh attractions are accessible by bicycle, as well as Tam Coc if you miss the city vibe.
The rooms are spacious, clean, cosy, authentic but newly built. For this price it is unusual to find this quality in Vietnam (in the homestay category). The owner is nice and helpful. Bonus: a very cute cat

This homestay is very well located, within walking distance to the Mua Cave and a short bike ride from all other Ninh Binh areas (Tam Coc, Bird Valley Park (we really recommend this one!), Bich Dong pagoda, Trang An, Hoa Lu). It is run by a very nice family, although most of them don't speak much English. They rented bikes to us and we had dinner there on the first night.
The perfect place to stay when visiting Ninh Binh. Close to great bars and restaurants in Tam Coc and an easy drive/scoot to Trang An for boat tours and attractions. You can rent a scooter from the hotel and book onward travel very easily. The manager Kelvin was so friendly and helpful. We had a very comfortable stay. The room was very modern and clean. Highly recommend.
The breakfast was great with local food and some western options. The location was also a perfect starting point for exploring Tam Coc and Ninh Binh. Renting scooters from the hotel was a great experience.
