Julie was extremely helpful and accommodating with helping me with rebooking my pre-arranged activity. Even more so after I had an accident at the activity and she kindly offered to help with going to the pharmacy to buy medicine. The room and the location was great.

The hotel manager was super friendly and cared a lot. He organized a very nice trip to Lan-Ha Bay for us with pick-up directly at the hotel. Also he gave us a really good working motorbike for fair money (100k ₫/ day). We had no problem to continue to our next destination since he booked us a bus, again with pick-up at the hotel. On top we could get our laundry done.
The room had the best bed in Việt Nam so far, a hot shower with enough pressure and it was quiet at night (we had a room facing the mountains).
Notice: Cắt Bà island still faces the effects of the big Taifun last autumn. The rebuilding of the roof terrace was close to finish when we were there, and we could relax on it already.

The private boat trip was wonderful, much quieter than the busier sides of Ha Long Bay, and just as picturesque, if not more. Went in winter, so cooler, so didn't partake in water activities. Lots of building and renovating, so it will be amazing once completed. Some nice restaurants but limited choice.

Having recovered from the worst typhoon in 70 years, local businesses are now enduring a huge building project by Sun World which has in just the last year removed the beautiful beach from the town.
For everyone’s sake I hope it’s completed timely and doesn’t go bust half way through

The full day Lan Ha Island with kayak and fish farm was fantastic. We preferred staying at southern end of Cat Ba than Halong Bay. The local market with fresh produce and seafood was a great experience.

Cat Ba is amazing.
Cat Ba is amazing. I stayed in a homestay inside Cai Beo Floating village and woke up to the amazing views of Lan Ha Bay. The boat tours (with kayaking and swimming) are stunning and a great way to learn about the landscape, history, and local culture of the fishing villages while seeing the hidden gems of Lan Ha Bay. The hotels are cheap, the food is good, and there are many opportunities to connect with fellow travelers.

Cat Ba is a wonderful base to explore Lan Ha Bay and go on a day cruise, a great alternative to the busier Ha Long Bay. Cat Ba Island is a bit harder to get to, but the tourist area is lovely, lots of stores, restaurants, boardwalk, lots of fun.

Our stay at Cat Ba Paradise Hotel offered some of the best views in the area, with scenic surroundings that made our time on the island memorable. The hotel is conveniently located, with beaches, restaurants, and local attractions just a short walk away, making it easy to explore Cat Ba.
The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, and although we didn’t try the complimentary dinner they offered, we appreciated the gesture.
Clearly the best hotel in Cat Ba with a nice Indochine style! The pool and wellness area both on the ground floor but also on the roof top are stunning! Superb service and you also have access to the public beach number 3 which is the nicest in Cat Ba.
The room was beautiful and the restaurant options great! The best food we had in Vietnam!
