Staying in downtown historical Savannah was excellent.
Staying in downtown historical Savannah was excellent. We loved walking from our hotel to all the parks in the historical downtown.
Food choices were amazing and delicious! Certainly didn't feel like we were in a city, it felt relaxing, laid back and enjoyable. I think that's because we walked everywhere. Driving would have been stressful as we were not familiar with the area at all.

Three nights in Savannah is just about right, as there is much to see and do. Spend at least one evening at the riverfront, ideally on a rooftop bar (e.g. the Myrtle & Rose), just to see the huge container ships go by. Historic Savannah is very walk-able, Walk around Forsyth Park, picking up a light lunch and coffee at the eclectic Sympathetic Bean at the South end of the park, Early morning is a great time to stroll the various neighborhoods, and see some of the many small squares. SCAD has a nice art museum with rotating exhibits. SCAD also has an impressive (and free) "SCAD Story" multimedia presentation on Bull Street. Avoid the business part of the historic district; it is busy with lots of traffic right next to the sidewalks. Plenty of restaurants and bars, The Six Pence pub is infinitely better than Churchill's on all counts - they do have English beer, very friendly service, and you actually get the drink you ordered. The deck at The Public Kitchen & Bar (no reservations) made for a perfect outdoor dining experience - and the grits and shrimp dinner was exceptional (but a tad small).

Super place to visit - so much history and many bars, restaurants and cafes. Would recommend taking one of the Trolley bus tours to see the main sights, but the city is small enough to walk around easily.
Really enjoyed the Prohibition museum and sitting listening to musician in Chippewa Square

Down by Bay Street was amazing.
Down by Bay Street was amazing. The river and the sights were fun for the whole family. Some of the restaurants were just OK, but when you take in the atmosphere, it is hardly noticeable. If you are lucky, there are a few ways to get down there without using the wild steep stairs. Read online reviews for restaurants if you are a “foodie” so youCan plan to really be wowed.

The location of hotel was wonderful. I loved that you could take the back elevators and be on River Street! The hotel was close to all the restaurants we ate at. We also enjoyed eating at the hotel restaurant one night. It was fabulous! I loved the lobby and the view from the lobby.
Friendly staff, free parking and close to public transport. The bus from downtown back to the hotel however was very unreliable but free during St. Patrick’s weekend. The last bus left around 8pm so if you wanted to stay longer in downtown I’d take a ride share or something.
The location was phenomenal, only a short walk from River Street and many downtown attractions. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and hardworking. Parking with the valet service was easy and straightforward.
