The room was way larger than I expected. The buffet breakfast included scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, cereal, bagels, oatmeal yogurt, fresh fruit, juice and probably some other things I'm forgetting. The valets, front desk, and housekeeping were friendly and helpful. The pool and spa were clean.

Hilton Santa Cruz Scotts Valley, hotel in Santa Cruz

Just minutes from area beaches and the famous Santa Cruz Boardwalk, this hotel features spacious and comfortable accommodations as well as relaxing amenities in Santa Cruz, California.

I always look for a good looking hotel, this hotel ticked all the boxes. Not only was it pretty to look at but it was in an excellent location for us. Our room was clean & comfortably and very quiet, particularly as we were on the ground floor right next to the car park. The food was great, the staff were friendly and polite. I would like to give a “huge” shout out to Nicola, she served us twice in the evening and one breakfast, she was extremely efficient and always had a smile on her face and made time to talk to us, she was the nicest person we met in our whole 3 week vacation. Thank you Nicola.

Superb location, only a very short walk to the beach and boardwalk. Parking was available right by our room despite being incredibly busy 4th July. Staff were very friendly and there was a nice selection of snacks for breakfast - something for everyone.

FAQs about hotels in Santa Cruz

Surfin’ USA in Bohemian CA

Santa Cruz was surf central California long before the Beach Boys sang about it. The Surfing Museum in the Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse tells stories of those who have braved some of the world’s best waves.

Overlooking the ocean rollers are the Coconut Grove Ballroom and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk - the oldest amusement park in the state of CA, and the last original one on the West Coast. Its historic carousel, rollercoasters and rides are a colourful backdrop to Cowell’s Beach, best viewed from the Sky Glider cable cars.

Jutting into Monterey Bay is the wharf where sea lions bask and pelicans decide on their next meal. Seafood restaurants are abundant here and the bars provide lively nightlife. Pacific Avenue is the main shopping area and one street away is the Museum of Art & History.

Unsurprisingly for a surfer hotspot, the city has a liberal outlook and is known for political activism - a far cry from the era when the Santa Cruz Mission was established. The mission is now a state park alongside Natural Bridges Beach and the Big Basin Redwoods in forested hills behind the city, home to the gravity-defying Mystery Spot.

Booking.com’s Santa Cruz accommodation includes pet-friendly motels, hotels with hot tubs and cheap inns near UCSC.

Love the beaches, The Beach Boardwalk (great place for restless teens), and the Point Lobos State Park. The coastal trail is well maintained and old folk friendly. There is easy access to redwood just north of Santa Cruz without the crowds drawn by better known locations. We enjoyed every minute of our time and satisfied the needs of a varied ages and abilities.

My kids loved the boardwalk but there is so much more to Santa Cruz than just the Boardwalk. The weather is brilliant. I feel it has it all with plenty of action on the Boardwalk to entertain the kids but I feel you can easily avoid the hustle and bustle of the Boardwalk and have a relaxing & romantic time away with a special loved one.

    Fun beach town.

Fun beach town. The Victorian architecture of homes was lovely. We visited the high school track to run and that was very nice. We only stayed one night but could have easily made it a 3 day stay. Shopping, seal watching, good food, art, carnival rides, sun and the beach. Wonderful for all ages

Room was basic but clean enough. It's very close to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk; you could walk to the boardwalk in about 10 minutes. The pool is indoors which was nice because the kids could swim even though it was a little chilly outside.
