I loved how historic it was. It felt like sleeping in a museum.
Salem was wonderful!! Planning to return and visit the other places I didn’t see.
Highly recommend to go anytime before October. Was told my locals is crazy and mobs of people come and visit. Harder to get into places, shops and restaurants with long lines.
Solo trip was nice - Easy to walk to local spots, trolley is a must to familiar yourself with the town. Don’t miss the Ouija Museum!

The Witch House is the only surviving building that has connections with the witch trials, so a must see.
Definitely do a guided walking tour, the evening one is more atmospheric.
Reds Sandwich shop is great value for money and delicious. Cemeteries have a lot of interest.
We took home edible souvenirs from Ye Olde Pepper Companies, America’s oldest candy maker.

the 2nd week of September was a great time to visit Salem, it didn't seem to busy and we had phenomenal weather. We took the trolley ride, which was a great way to learn some of the history of Salem and get acclimated to the roads and places to visit on foot. We stayed in town and walked through most of the districts. It was great to learn more about the witch trials, and we found the rest of the history of the area- the impact of it being a key port for shipping, it's role in the American Revolution, the house of the 7 gables, and Parker Brothers games.

Salem has changed since we first started going there.
Salem has changed since we first started going there. City doesn’t see as clean as in the past and first time we have seen homeless sleeping on the sidewalks. The nicest thing about Salem is that it is still a walkable city. What we want to see are close to each other.

Historic city.
++ Peabody Museum is a must see
++ Local Northshore coast is gorgeous
--- non local parking on the Northshore is mission impossible
- The historic city center is a bit patchy - some old, good looking properties combined to a few ugly modern buildings

Salem is not the type of place I want to spend time.
Salem is not the type of place I want to spend time. I am not into modern witchcraft shops or the like. The portion that discussed the history of the Salem Witch Trials was interesting. I could have spent a couple of hours there to see that and have a meal, but that’s it.

The location of this hotel is truly in the middle of everything. We ate, shopped, and went on a walking tour without ever driving the car. This was an awesome hotel with very nice staff.
The hotel was in a great location. It was near many shops, restaurants, etc. but not in the busiest section of town. The rooms were very nice and the beds were especially comfortable.
Everything about the hotel was wonderful. Impeccably clean, high quality furnishings and very tastefully decorated. The bed was really comfortable too.
