This is such a fun, silly, comfortable, and entertaining place to stay. We stayed in the Deserted Island room and that shell shaped bed was incredibly comfortable! Jan, who was our hostess and bartender and basically acted as a concierge making our stay wonderful and letting us know about all the dining options, late check out, etc. What a terrific lady. We will be coming back just too see her again! Overall, this experience far exceeded our expectations.

There is so much to explore in North Conway and we did not have time to do it all. We did get across the Kancamagus to Lincoln and Woodstock before our one rainy day. Even in the rain we were fine. I went to the outlets at Settler's Green and then the New England Ski Museum. If you are a skier, or ever were a skier, it is a must visit. Lots of restaurants and Vito Marcello's Bistro was our favorite.

North Conway is a lovely town nestled in the White Mountains...
North Conway is a lovely town nestled in the White Mountains. But be warned-- I'm biased as I was raised there. Since then (long ago), it has built up more to cater to tourists, with the two local grocery stores replaced with big chains farther out on the strip. The beauty spots I enjoyed with friends in my youth have also been monetized and crowded. Mt Cranmore (the ski slope in town) has built up a lot of condos around it so you can no longer see the mountain from the base! Housing costs have gone through the roof because of second home owners such that people who work there cannot afford to live there. As a result, there is a challenge to staff hospitality so not all restaurants are open seven days a week for b/l/dinner. Despite all this, it is still gorgeous, especially if you travel north and take in the scenery along Rt 16. Very blessed to have had a Norman Rockwell childhood in this gorgeous part of the world.

There are far too many great restaurants and shops that just bring you back. The view of the White Mtns all around you and the quiet way. So fabulous! We like to go in the summer but have stayed here in the winter months, and it just adds to the charm.

The hotel is under renovation and when we arrived we seriously thought it was completely closed and even abandoned. Finally our room was at the back of the hotel a separate part of the main building. The room we chose was with a fireplace "but didn't work", the room was clean and comfortable with a mini refrigerator and a microwave but no coffee machine. There was no restaurant or breakfast available. At our disposal was only few donuts and coffee in the main building but very dusty because of the renovation.
The hotel was far back from the road which was quiet and had lot of area just to walk around. Miniature golf was additional feature. The hotel offered free bottles of water and chocolate cookies. It was very clean although the bathroom could use some updating.
We loved the location of this wonderful Inn. So very close to the North Conway railroad. The wrap around porch was certainly used by us. Some great restaurants close by.
