FAQs about hotels in Los Angeles

City of Angels

Exploring Los Angeles, the place where movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the end point of the fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to catch a glimpse of the canals that earned the area its name.

Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.

And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present.  Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.

Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

Perfect trip for cinema lovers, it is still the place to go.

Perfect trip for cinema lovers, it is still the place to go. You can feel how the city revolves around entertaiment, and there is always somenthing to do. I recomend a hop-on hop-off tour bus so that you can explore the main spots in town without overspending. But don't take the celebrity houses one - that takes too long and it's quite boring I do not recomend taking the metro.

    I liked LA.

I liked LA. Was very surprised how dry the air is but the soft water from the shower from the place I stayed in did wonders for my hair. Liked all the healthy food options such as gluten free pizza crusts, etc. Lots to do and see just super expensive compared to other cities I've lived in/visited like NYC and Washington DC.

    Downtown smells of hobo pee.

Downtown smells of hobo pee. But, it is safe (at least during the day.) Everyone I encountered either looked away (common for big cities) or was polite. The old buildings are amazing. Bring your camera. If you can speak Spanish (and I'm very poor at it) there's plenty of food carts that seemed amazing. Don't bother to buy anything from the shops though. It's all AliExpress stuff marked up 10fold.

Do not miss to visit Petersen museum of cars!

Do not miss to visit Petersen museum of cars! We took almost 400 photos there. Since cars from 1930, others produced only 2 units, and F1 cars as well. It was nice to see the sunset at the Santa Monica Pier. Hollywood boulevard street is nice to walk in Walk of Fame, shopping malls, Madame Tussaud. Do not miss to visit Amoeba store if you like vinyl record or that CD that we don´t find it anymore on the regular stores. Warnes Brothers studios, Universal and Disney parks. January is a nice month to visit LA because the weather is dry (no rain), 8 to 20 Degrees C. We also visited La Brea Pits museum and Museu of Oscar. Have a nice meal at Cheesecake Factory. Basketball and hokey games were included in the agenda. We could not visit Getty Museums because they were closed. And we did not visit Griffith Observatory. Maybe next time in LA. Worst to visit and have lunch at the Original Farmer´s Market in LA.

Stayed at the hotel for the second time, it's a great place to recover from the flights' fatigue . Love the comfy bed and the space ! The free drink and snacks in the evening are a plus . The staff is - as always - super nice and the breakfast is pretty good too. I love the rooms , the atrium and the glass elevators which are fun for the kids and grown-ups ! I have also used the laundry room , it was quick , easy and cheap. Every time I have used the shuttles to and from the airport , the drivers were very helpful.

It was located along Sunset Boulevard which connects Hollywood and Beverly Hills, the two key places of interest. Parking is relatively cheap in this hotel at USD29 per night and the hotel provides complimentary breakfast. The waffles were made hot and fresh on the spot and they were exceptional. Menu changes everyday but largely revolves around eggs, ham, hash browns, prepared differently. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful!

Very near airport for a comfy, cheap layover. Close enough to walk from terminal in daylight, but better to catch the Hertz bus back and forth, as it's right next door. Free and quick, every 20 mins 24/7. Greek food downstairs was pretty good. In n Out burger in walking distance too.

The breakfast was ok, the eating area was nice. Parking was convenient, a parkade is right behind the hotel. It was cheaper to pay for the spot through the parkade than what it says through the hotel.
