Exploring Los Angeles, the place where many movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the ending point of fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to glimpse the canals that earned the area its name.
Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.
And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalise celebrities of past and present. Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
Over the hill is Universal Studios, offering behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.
Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).
LA is a city with big character! anything and everything goes. Hollywood, Korean town, Chinatown, Fashion district, beaches, mountains... the list goes on!
Very friendly people too! If you like an adventurous city, then this is for you!

Do not miss to visit Petersen museum of cars!
Do not miss to visit Petersen museum of cars! We took almost 400 photos there. Since cars from 1930, others produced only 2 units, and F1 cars as well.
It was nice to see the sunset at the Santa Monica Pier.
Hollywood boulevard street is nice to walk in Walk of Fame, shopping malls, Madame Tussaud. Do not miss to visit Amoeba store if you like vinyl record or that CD that we don´t find it anymore on the regular stores.
Warnes Brothers studios, Universal and Disney parks. January is a nice month to visit LA because the weather is dry (no rain), 8 to 20 Degrees C.
We also visited La Brea Pits museum and Museu of Oscar.
Have a nice meal at Cheesecake Factory.
Basketball and hokey games were included in the agenda.
We could not visit Getty Museums because they were closed.
And we did not visit Griffith Observatory. Maybe next time in LA.
Worst to visit and have lunch at the Original Farmer´s Market in LA.

LA is very busy, if you plan to hire a vehicle be prepared that the LA freeways are usually extremely busy - its like peak hour traffic all day long. There are plenty of things to see & do around LA, you just have to dig a little deeper to find the true gems.

Well the place was wonderful and I really didn't think it was going to be that so for a hostel which I've never stayed in, it was okay and sharing a shower with the rest of the hotel wasn't as bad as I thought it was. There's actually more showers that was one shower for every guy in the hotel. No, it's one shower on every floor. There's a couple floors and it's on each end on each Wing. So I thought it was going to be 3 hours waiting for a shower like in high school but wasn't that way. That was fine. + Looking treated me wonderful and the hotel as well. No complaints

How do you review LA? Really?
How do you review LA? Really? One of the best and most fun destinations in the world? Check. We live in CA and used to live close by so we just visited for a quick NYE trip to Universal Studios and to catch a hockey game. Nothing not to like. It's like you imagine it if you have not yet been there (if you're out of state, driving can be challenging. Traffic-aggressive drivers- 5-lane freeways etc etc)

I love LA for its stunning scenes, sunsets, and amazing weather. However, I didn’t feel very safe due to the increasing number of homeless people. It’s also an expensive city—even for someone living in NYC like me!

Convenience and Accessibility:
The excellent location ensured that you could easily access significant attractions and amenities. Being close to Beverly Hills and LAX means you have the best of both worlds: the glamour and excitement of the city and the convenience of airport access.
Scenic Views:
The balcony view provided a unique and picturesque perspective of Hollywood and downtown, allowing you to enjoy the scenic beauty and iconic landmarks from the comfort of your accommodation.
You would only stay here for universal and it’s a short walk away, so that’s good. I think the extra charges for parking are too much considering the hotel is not cheap. It was clean, that’s all we needed. The area around the hotel is not nice and I wouldn’t walk around there if I had kids with me.
The room was clean, comfortable and a good size. Staff were efficient and granted our request for a late check out (at a cost). The hotel is located close to Union Station with links to both trains and buses, including a cheap bus link to the airport.. There are eating options nearby.
It seemed to be one of the cheapest hotels we could find (obviously without staying in an absolute dive). The location isn't too bad in terms of visiting Hollywood, although we did have a car which made traveling around easier. The fact it had parking was a plus.
Excellent location in the heart of Hollywood. Close to everything. Big Target 300m from the hotel. Walking distance to Hollywood walk of fame. Very nice pool area and a big was free parking in central Los Angeles.
