Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Gulf Shores, hotel in Gulf Shores

Gulf Shores Beach is 6.4 km from this Gulf Shores Wyndham hotel. Features include an outdoor pool with a sun deck, free continental breakfast, and rooms with free WiFi.

It was the easiest to afford of many options. The only thing it lacked was a close distance to the beach. I knew that going it. I specifically chose to be out of that traffic—both automotive and human.

Hilton Garden Inn Orange Beach, hotel in Gulf Shores

Located on the Gulf of Mexico, this Orange Beach Hilton Garden Inn hotel is next to Gulf State Park. Features include free WiFi, an indoor and an outdoor pool, 2 hot tubs with a poolside tiki bar.

I will not return to this hotel nor will i recommend it. They charge you for EVERYTHING. $10 for parking and $18 for a breakfast that was cold. They served potatoes and egg and bacon, BUT it was cold. The people working at the reception were distracted and not attentive. The conditioner bottle was empty. So overall, a meh experience.

We went after Labor Day, so traffic was light and the dining out was great with no wait times for tables. The weather did not accommodate us, it rained a lot, but we were just happy to be at the beach. There were several grocery stores nearby and also Walmarts. The trip was very relaxing and we can't wait to go back!

It was nice but not as nice as any location in Florida.

It was nice but not as nice as any location in Florida. You have to pay for parking on just about everything and there wasn't as much to see or do as there is at a Florida location like Panama City. The beach and Ocean was not as beautiful as Panama City is! Last year August 2023 I went to Panama City and I had never seen the beach and water as beautiful as it was!! I had not been in YEARS and was totally surprised at how beautiful and perfect the beaches and water were. I don't know if it cleared up after hurricane Katrina or what but there was NO seaweed anywhere and the water was so clear you could see right through it to the bottom even way out. It was just beautiful. There beach in Gulf Shores was pretty but not near as nice as Panama City. A good place to eat was Donavins Seafood. Kinda high but was told not as high as other places and the steak was off the chain! Fishing was really good right off the beach. License was high though.

Gulf Shores beaches are comparable to Florida but a little cheaper, and they are catching up. Lots of family friendly attractions, like Gulf State Park, OWA amusement park (owned by Choctaw Indian tribe), Waterville USA water park, The Wharf Resort and intertainment center. Fort Morgan. Mobile Bay, and of course the sugar white sand beaches. Not crazy like Panama City Beach or Destin.

The rooms were perfectly furnished, shaped, size.

The rooms were perfectly furnished, shaped, size. If you want peace and quiet this is the place to stay. MY ONLY complaint is that the kids were loud.(Just me saying) kids will be kids. Jumping in and out of pool HAVING FUN!! . Myself I don't like that kind of noise at 9pm . I will be returning!! I can handle the kids

The room was pretty sub-par, paint peeling, nasty rusting fridge, and the TV was from about 5-10 years ago. The only plus about this place is it's location & view (we had a balcony facing the beach.) Good luck checking out with luggage. We had to tote tons of luggage out because there were NO CARTS available Sunday morning. Honestly, if the room were better I could have accepted this, but the facilities, the room, and everything else made for a pretty sub par experience for my anniversary. I honestly would not stay here again, I'd rather pay more for a better experience, even though in my opinion for the money spent, I should have at least received a room where the literal paint wasn't falling off the wall.

The location it is right across the street from the beach ( be careful, no pedestrian crossing in front the hotel). The staff is friendly but make sure you ask for information ( parking, blow dryer). The pool is 5 feet deep at the 3rd floor. We didn't use it. Breakfast is pick up and go.

Comfort inn is not pet friendly which has a bonus. We had stayed at other hotels on our travels and had hairs on sheets...dirty sheets etc.. All comfort inns we stayed at were spotless, clean pool good breakfast. Location was not directly accessing the beach, but 5 minutes walk.
