Trisha at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay more comfortable. She even leant me her cell phone charger.

Interesting old period house. Very good and personal service from the hosts, even giving a lift into town. Freshly cooked breakfast with homemade jams. While we weren’t hiking it’s on the Appalachian trial.

Nice hotel, in a good location close to the national park
Fantastic place to visit especially during the fall season.
Fantastic place to visit especially during the fall season. We enjoyed driving skyline drive and pulling off to snap pictures at the designated overlooks. There are many trails to see... Be sure to grab a map at the visitor center.
In addition, there are shops and restaurants on main street some dating back decades that we enjoy.

The town is quaint t the edge of the the Shenandoah Valley, historic with intact late 18th to early 20th century buildings, welcoming rural Virginian hospitality from many small, family owned businesses (some there for decades), at the gateway to the magnificent Shenandoah Natl Park and breathtaking Skyline Drive that winds southward atop the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Visitors Center (former FR train station) is most helpful. Stay at the Mountain Home B&B, built in 1847 and restored this past decade, to gain an informed perspective about the area's history while enjoying gracious hospitality.

Everything was at our fingertips, the door lock code was simple and easy to access, The parking was simple 3 point turn around in a large front yard. The dishwasher, washer dryer were clean and in good working condition. Must have city water as no bad smells or feels. The beds were clean and comfortable and the wifi, TV all worked great. Nice linens and towels, stacked firewood ready for use. Jacuzzi is in an enclosed screen porch to keep the bugs out. Lovely area with nature a bounty. Book with confidence and assurance this home is a cared for gem in the mountains.

Good hiking and vineyards near by.
Make sure you take all the food you need as there are convenience stores around with limited supplies.

It has to be the most convenient place from which to see the park. The town has everything you might need to facilitate a good hike or even spend days in the forest. Accommodations seem to geared around providing a place to sleep as you adventure around the mountains. Dining in the town is third rate.
