The staff was amazing and the place is super clean
There is much to do for all ages. Great restaurants and attractions. Many within walking distance. Proximity to Rock City and Ruby Falls is a great plus. Enjoyed a nice dinner out at Hennen’s one night. Spent the next day at the Tennessee Aquarium followed by lunch at Puckett’s and finished the night at a Chattanooga Lookouts baseball game. All within walking distance. The following day we were able to see both Rock City and Ruby Falls before finishing the evening with a nice dinner at Taziki’s which was a great Mediterranean spot.

Love me some Chattanooga!
Love me some Chattanooga! We ate at Nic and Norman's for dinner, the burger was AMAZING! Then we hit up the aquarium and a couple of bars. Whiskey Cowgirl was so fun! It was so nice being able to Uber everywhere and not have to worry about parking or anything.

Our trip was just a quick getaway from home, and it was just what we needed. Chattanooga is a charming city with quite a few attractions. The city is not too crowded and it is was refreshingly quiet. Nice scenery and friendly people. We loved it and will be back. Where we stayed had everything around us , restaurants, mall, etc… downtown was about 10 minutes ( Tops ) away where you had the aquarium, the river, and much more. Really enjoyed our visit..

It's walkable; there's public transportation but I didn't need it for my destinations.
There are TONS of thing to do including many things that have nothing to do with railroads or the Civil War. I came in the 70's and that was all I remember; there are fabulous art museums and other cool things to do.
If this is you, be sure to try these. OF course there are the big places everyone knows, but these are also fantastic.
Hunter Museum
Houston Museum
Riverwalk and Sculpture Garden
L2 Kayak/SUP rentals
Duck Boats. Great for your first thing, as it drives around town a bit then in the water; lots of history and local color. ALL children on my boat got a chance to steer!
The Carousel
On the south side:
Tow Truck Museum (really!)
Incline Railroad
Naught Cat Cafe (not a strip club)

Great city for families.
Great city for families. Lots of activities for the kids, we did the incline and a baseball game. But there is also a zoo, museums, and an amusement park close by. The big park with the carousel and fountain is fun, there’s also a pedestrian bridge where live street performers will set up and you can walk across the bridge from one side of the river to the other. There is a lot of history here. Wish we had more time to go to Ruby Falls. Lots of restaurant options.

Really enjoyed Rock City, will visit again.
Really enjoyed Rock City, will visit again. Dining options are very average. Interstate traffic was fairly busy and can be confusing. One or two days is plenty of time to see everything. Downtown parking is limited and you have to pay.
We stayed in the historic tower - highly recommended. Huge room and bathroom - wish we were staying longer!
Loved the history of the hotel and all the decor - really added to the holiday.
Walking distance to Chattanooga Choo-Choo (some may say too far) and smart street with lovely restaurants.
