The property was clean and in a neighborhood of other hotels and a gated residential community. It was nice and safe. It was close drive from Legoland and there’s a shopping area with fast food, market, and Starbucks nearby. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The hotels are right off the freeway, but we didn’t hear any of the traffic from there. It was quiet and restful. They serve free breakfast as well, but we didn’t have it. We would come back again.

It's mostly an upscale suburban community. Lots of nice grocery stores and other shopping. I was there because my Sister and Niece live there.
When I'm visiting with my wife, we like Oceanside. In some ways it's better for tourists. But it does not have the great grocery and other stores that Carlsbad has.

Carlsbad was very nice. We loved all of the food and shopping options in Carlsbad Village. We were planning to go to Old Town San Diego, but found we were having such a nice time in Carlsbad that we stayed and explored what was available...excellent choice!

I won’t be going back even if I was offered a free night.
Note: I had to walk the block just to use the bathroom to and also change to swimwear at the Western Hotel and the other hotel across from it. I wanted to have a beer there but neither one of them had a bar.
I had one at the beach hut. Yeah!

TIPTOP RESTAURANT WAS DEFINATELY THE "BEST" EATING LOCATION IN CARLSBAD AND THE SURROUNDING AREA! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GO AWAY HUNGRY, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. QUALITY, PRICE, TASTE AND VARIETY!
THE BEACHES IN THE AREA ARE VERY NICE AS WELL. VERY CLEAN, WITH MOSTLY WHITE SAND. THE WATER IS A LITTLE CHILLY RIGHT NOW FOR MY LIKING BUT THAT'S WHAT WET SUITS ARE FOR! THE NICE THING I HAVE FOUND IS THAT "MOST" OF THE TIME THE BEACHES ARE RELATIVELY NOT BUSY. CHECK THEM OUT FOR YOURSELF AND I THINK YOU WILL BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.
BASICALLY, THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY TO DO IN CARLSBAD. JUST WALK AROUND THE VILLAGE SHOP AREA WHERE YOU CAN FIND SOME REALLY NEAT UNIQUE GIFT IDEA'S. MY PERSONAL FAVORITE IS THE" VILLAGE ROCK SHOP" WHERE YOU CAN FIND ALL KINDS OF NEAT THINGS FROM CHRYSTAL'S , RARE ROCKS, NECKLACES, STRESS ROCKS, BRACELETS, EARRINGS AND MORE. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED AT "THE VILLAGE ROCK SHOP".
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND VISITING CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA WHEN YOUR IN THE AREA. THERE IS A LOT TO SEE AND DO.

while Carlsbad is a lovely city to see, we did not have enough time to walk around, drive around. We were there for a specific reason, and that took all of our time.
From what I heard the flower gardens are suppose to be gorgeous.
Room was clean and everything worked and was pretty much up to day. Bathroom was well setup with no peeling of paint or exposed plaster. Shower worked well. Working space was comfortable. Blackout curtains were some of the best I have see at a hotel. Although the hotel is very close to the Palomar airport, there was practically no noise from the planes, just some traffic noise form the road nearby. Noise from upper floors was minimal. Location was very convenient to many local businesses.
Good location, and nice and clean rooms. What made our stay memorable was the hotel manager Geoffrey, who checked us in and went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed
Perfect stay, just over the street and you are on the beach, spacious room and a nice breakfast place with a great sea view. Easy walk to the center of Carlsbads shops and restaurants.
