this lodge is a hidden gem!!!! Blaine and Kathy the owners are super nice folks They were very helpful in giving us hints on where to eat in Bryson City....just 5 miles away. The property sits on the river and walking down there was just breathtaking.
One evening we saw a huge bull elk walk through!!!! Lots of wildlife There were 2 chairs at each room to sit outside and relax, the pool was large and clean. There is a covered area by the river with glider swings and chairs and fire pit to use. We are already planning on returning there next year 2 hour drive to Pigeon Forge. Gatlinburg area. Loved everything !!!

Me and my husband loved it. It was so quiet, peaceful. We literally didn't want to go anywhere just stay inside the cabin. The hot tub was my husband favorite part of the trip.

Great Smokey Mountain Railway is a must do. Splurge for a first class car!
We ate at Anthony's Italian. The food was great but a little pricey. Service was a little slow but the servers were very nice and apologetic. You must do Everett St. diner for breakfast and The BBQ wagon for great BBQ.

Loved the quiet town of Bryson City.
Loved the quiet town of Bryson City.
First night ate at the Rice Wagon- great food cooked to order, sat outside, lovely atmosphere. Loved trying the beers inside, brewed onsite.
Ate at Nantahala's on day 2. Excellent food & service, would recommend. Good choice of beers, also brewed on site.
Main purpose of the trip was a ride on the trains at the Great Smokies Mountain Railway. This was brilliant, loved every minute. Chose to have dinner & drinks on board, perfect service, wonderful views. Singers & narrators along the way added to the fun. Food basic but edible, added to the atmosphere.
Off the train a lovely depot to walk around including being able to play on the model railway/train lines. Press the interactive buzzers to see what moves or lights up. Many a grown up kid playing!
Easy to walk around, wide paths.

We went to Bryson City to ride on the Old North Carolina Railroad on a trip through Nantahala Gorge. This trip takes 4 hours and is really nice.
It includes a stop at the Nantahala Outdoor Center. There is food, drink and alcohol available on the train, and also at Nantahala.
The restaurants in town were very good, especially Pasqualinos Italian Restaurant, which was excellent. There were cute stores, the town did not look tired, nor did it have lots of vacant store fronts. It has free parking, which is a nice change from some towns, and is highly walkable. There is a river running through it, which is quite pretty.
It borders Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and has access to several trails, including the Tunnel to Nowhere. The lodging choices were limited, but we didn't have trouble getting a room for the first weekend in May.

Bryson City is a beautiful little town with lots of cute...
Bryson City is a beautiful little town with lots of cute shops and interesting history. The town only has one sit down diner for breakfast and it stays very busy, The evening options are quite diverse and offer a variety of menus and prices, The streets are nice for walking along, and some benches are available to sit, the town features fiberglass 'trout' in different designs and colors, so look for these as interesting photo oppportunities. The Swain County Museum is really interesting as well. The are multiple hiking/walking trails in the area and don't forget to visit the 'Road to Nowhere'. The highlight of the town is the Great Smoky Mountains Railway and Miniature Train Museum.

Falls, Road to Nowhere, Tubing, and you are so close to other Adventures in Cherokee, Fontana Dam, Maggie Valley...
One place for FOOD in Bryson City that I can recommend without hesitation is Pasqualino's Italian Restaurant!!! Hands Down, the best Italian ever and the best wait staff, starting with Jackson!!!! Amazing service!!! Sooo many Gluten Free Options, including freshly made bread from the local bakery from down the street! It was the only place we ate inside Bryson City, and we ate there twice!
There are lots of places to shop, snack and eat. We went during the off season. What we loves the most about Bryson City was the people. Everywhere we went, we were welcomed. Thank you Bryson City for the memories!
McKinley Edwards Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Our room was spacious, extremely comfortable and beautifully appointed. The breakfast buffet has a good range of choice and the hot option varies each day. The owner is very pleasant and welcoming and we had a great stay. Bryson City is a convenient location for exploring the Smokies, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as the activities offered in Nantahala, Fontana, and Deep Creek. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.
Location was great that's why we chose Relax Inn.
The room was very clean, bed was very comfortable, and staff was helpful and friendly. We plan to stay again next time we visit Bryson City.
