Most of the staff were magnificent and went out of their way to right every wrong and make our stay as comfortable as possible. Even when we had non-stop issues with electricity going down several times per day/hour, the mini fridge was broken, the toilet flush didn't work, the internet was always down; the staff, housekeeping, electricians were relentless and fixed our fridge and toilet. Breakfast was excellent and they do make an effort to diversify the buffet dinner menu and evening entertainment.

Lala Land was the best place we have stayed in Zanzibar! The staff is amazing, the most welcoming, nice people who carried us on the palm of their hand, they did everything for us to enjoy our stay there. They even took care of my husband who had fewer on the last 2 days of our stay there.
Frida and Ben, the owners are making this place the most beautiful, cosy and we felt like in a paradise. This place is really like heaven on earth. You can really relax and enjoy the "pole-pole" feeling there. Don't forget to try the massage that Frida gives!!! :)
The dishes and breakfasts we ate were diverse and delicious.
The sunset from this place is amazing, the most beautiful sunset from the ireland.
We truly recommend for everybody to stay there! We already miss this place a lot! We would love to go back again!

We LOVED this hotel. The beach is not among the most famous of Zanzibar but it is absolutely stunning. Almost empty, clear turquoise water and white sand. I liked it much more than Nungwi beach which is crowded and plenty of annoying vendors all around. The hotel itself is beautiful, peaceful, cozy. Gardens, rooms, pool, location on the beach... everything was perfect. The staff was nice, the food at the restaurant was really good and the price is reasonable. Almost a 10/10.

Anita gave us the best breakfast ever! The swimming pool also enabled us to have some nice time after wandering the town, searching for beaches. And the beds were super comfy. It's a great place to stay!

This place has an amazing ambient and a beautiful soul! It was like a hub for the coolest people from every country, looking for a peaceful, extremely relaxed vacation in a bit of wilderness, heartfelt conversations with alcohol next to the fire… it’s all in the package, and as a bonus you get one of the best teams - owners and staff members that are right there for you literally every minute.
Thank you all guys- Benjamin, Annick, Cliffton, Melania, Elisabeth and others whose names we did not get to know;) You were all so amazing that even after two weeks it was a pity to leave. We look forward to meeting you all again!
PS. A big thanks to Cliffton for recommending us Malaika, We enjoyed it to the fullest ;-)

It’s a very quiet and enjoyable place and you can book lots of activities from there but overall there is not much going outside the hotels. The public beach doesn’t have any good restaurants or shops so you’re pretty much tied to your resort.

The location is more quiet then other places, they do not have a beach like Kendwa but it you are just looking to relax a couple of days this does not matter. It is like on a little cliff, sooo nice!

Kizimkazi is a village, although in fact there are 2 distinct and separate areas, with 2 beaches. The rest of the area is comprised of large, private self-contained resorts with their own private stairways.
There is not much to explore, but boat owners offer big-game fishing and dolphin-watching.
There are only 2 restaurants, although some of the private resorts offer their restaurants to the public; but at a price.
Hardly any touting which is nice;
3 or 4 days is probably sufficient to see all there is to see.

Place was very clean, food was nice and staff were very friendly, always available to assist
They also organized transport for us to travel around
Pete(Rasta man) was very friendly and he gave me some plants to bring to South Africa, I have them in my garden now
Morning shower was terrible, water was always cold and it seemed like their geyser or boiler was faulty

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Kizimkazi
The hotel is situated in the south of Zanzibar directly at the sea. During low tide its possible to walk across the rocky ground and reach a sand bank a bit further out put you have to pay attention to the sea urchins on the ground (the hotel provides shoes which is great!). If you prefer to not go to the sea, the pool might be one of the best things of the hotel, and one of the best if seen in a hotel. They sunsets are absoultly stunning, the rooms were clean and spacious and the staff very friendly and welcoming.
The hotel facilities are very nice, especially the villas. We got a villa with a totally private pool but quite near to the main areas of the resort. The resort is quite big and there are bikes available to get aroud.
Really friendly team - I want to especially Thank Rumso he made our stay very special and considered every detail to make our stay special. The hotel has great restaurant and beautiful view to the beach
