This review is for the "2 king beds" villa (the cheapest option; there were only two of us).
Facilities: Big guest house, which we had to ourselves. VERY cute and peaceful setting. Enclosed, secured compound is totally safe. I enjoyed bird-watching from the porch with coffee. Athanas is very friendly. We paid for dinner our first night and it was great (although, like all Tanzanian hospitality, he made far too much for us! haha). The wi-fi was intermittent, but that is very normal for Tanzania.
Location: very convenient for Lake Manyara or Ngorongroro treks!

Karatu offers resorts and staycations through a range of properties. Make sure they are at least 2Kms or more from town, as the town area is too dusty especially during dry season. Only the Main Road is of bitumen, most of the side roads are muddy and kicks up too much brown dust.
