Samroiyod Holiday Resort, hotel in Sam Roi Yot

Samroiyod Holiday Resort is located in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province in Khao Samroiyod National Park. The resort features free Wi-Fi and barbecue facilities. Free parking is available.

Location is spectacular. Across a quiet beach road from a sterling beach surrounded by nearby Sam Roi Yot mountains and islands. Quiet beach-side village. Very quiet... eat early... the restaurants mostly close at 8:00! Still undeveloped (but that won't last long). The location is world class for sure. The near by national park has a number of worthwhile sights including caves, wetlands, etc. I had a motorbike, and you will definitely need your own transportation to enjoy it all.

Nice beach, some activities, Kajak, ATV, restaurant, massage places, some caves. Some hotels are specifically kids friendly. Good beach if you want to relax or for a family. Not really for party people, only if you bring everyone for your party yourself. Also bring Moskito spray!

Arrive at Lungcha homestay in the afternoon.

Arrive at Lungcha homestay in the afternoon. Make a boat trip at sunset (starting point directly in front of the homestay). The lake with thousands of lotus flowers and birds is phantastic. They offer a 150.- baht dinner in Thai style (a bit oily, but good and plenty). Next morning do another sunrise trip: it is very different, because the light is different, there are more birds, the lotus flowers are open, the atmosphere is just magic. Costs 500,- baht for the boat (takes up to four people). Breakfast at Lungcha included and check out. There is not much to do or see near the homestay, perhaps you can stroll to the Ranger IV station in about 20 min, there is a small stripe of beach and access to the lake.

I rented a scooter to visit the park 2 days.

I rented a scooter to visit the park 2 days. The first day I visited the Phraya Nakhon Cave. It was definitely one of the highlights. Even the walk was nice, especially the first climb with nice views over the sea. I arrived before 10:00 in the cave, the perfect time to have the best sunlight. The second day I made a tour around the park (about 120 km) and visited nearly all indicated places: the Sam, Phraya Beach (nothing special), the Khao Daeng with boat tour (nice), Khao Daeng View Point (a difficult and sometimes steep climb, but with a wonderful view), and the Lotus Pound (very nice but not the best season to see the blooming lotus. Returning I took road 1021 where you can have beautiful sunset over the wetlands.

The sandy beach is very pleasant and gives an opportunity to observe/interact with local people involved in various types of fishing. Samroiyod National Park is a must, particularly the Phraya Nakhon Cave with the small shrine inside (trail is steep though, requires a good physical condition). Cheap seafood is available everywhere in the village, by the beach.

A glorious golden sandy bay, unspoiled by mass tourism, yet has several good quality hotels for every budget. Several restaurants, a few beach bars giving the bay an overall almost tropical island feel. This must have been how Pattaya was before mass tourism and concrete development spoiled its natural charm. Let's hope it doesn't happen here.

Great beachfront suitable for long walks.

Great beachfront suitable for long walks. Excellent choice of local restaurants. Easy to access the hire of bikes, motorcycles, sidecar combos and cars. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Great selection of properties to stay in. There’s even a local 9 hole golf course that needs a bit of TLC but is nevertheless a good test.

We really enjoyed our short stay in Sam Roi Yot, beautiful place, relaxing and chilled. The Green Beach Resort made our first trip a memorable one and we will certainly come back. The assistant manager ( sorry but we didn’t catch his name) was friendly and extremely helpful, he spoke very good English and helped to organise our activities. The rooms were basic but clean, pool was large and deep and just what was needed.

Great location in the national park, food was exceptional and the owners were so lovely and welcoming, they picked us up from Hua Him train station and rented us a bike for 250 baht per day and we got good use out of it. View across the wetlands was stunning and the room had amazing aircon.

Great location and hosts were most helpful. Breakfasts were superb, Thai or continental. Have stayed at pricier and bigger hotels with no attention to customers needs. Small is beautiful as they say. Fantastic value, would definately go back.
