I really enjoyed my stay here. Even though Lonely Beach can get noisy, my room (I stayed in the one furthest from the road) was very quiet. I didn’t hear any music at all, which was nice!
The location is good. There are plenty of restaurants and minimarts within walking distance. The public beach entrance is about 15 minutes away. I rented a scooter to get around the island more, but you could get around on foot/using taxis no problem.
The food is really good - I especially liked the cheese toastie :) the fruit smoothies are tasty too.
The owners are super nice and were keen to help. I ended up staying two nights extra.

Cutest Island ever. It’s a perfect relaxing vibe. We just spend our days exploring the island via motorbike and relaxing on the beach. The drives are beautiful and the beaches are the prettiest with such soft sand and clear blue water. It was the perfect trip away for couples who want to relax!

Where we stayed (Blue Haven Bay) was quiet and calm and a beautiful location. It allowed us to go out in the daytimes and be away from the hustle of the main beaches in the evenings (if we wanted) .
Koh change is a beautiful island and has lots of good food, but I'm told is more expensive generally than the rest of Thailand,
We took a Thai Coeliac card explaining that my wife cannot eat Fish Sauce, Soy, Maggi etc and asking what she could eat and that worked very well.
the Songtaew fella's appear to have managed some decent price fixing so travelling around can be a bit steep if there aren't many of you and/or you are on a budget.. So a moped is much more economical, though the roads are not good. I wouldn't ride a moped as consider the risk too great.
Salak Phet mangrove was a bit "meh" ... no wildlife to speak of., too many people. Though we saw a Hornbill on the journey back. Slak Phet Seafood resort where we went for lunch looked lovely and their food and service was excellent. Wish we'd stayed here a few days, bet it was fabulous and quiet in the evenings...
Didn't do any waterfalls as they mainly all dried up in January...

Koh Chang is a wonderful spot if you're looking for a relaxing holiday at a beach. Nightlife, daily activities ( other than Marine), markets etc are very limited. Would not be enjoyable if the island gets too busy which I expect won't take long. Would have liked more time so we could have gone on to Koh Mak and Koh Kood. Perhaps next time. pretty similar to koh Phan gan

Although there are some busy streets, overall it is a quiet and relaxing island, so I really like it.

Koh Chang is without question the best island in Thailand it takes effort to get too but well worth it, ensure you visit El Barrio for the best Mexican food in Thailand, I can’t put into words how good Koh Chang is the beaches are simply wonderful the people warm and friendly and you don’t have 10’s of 1000’s of tourists it is quiet and peaceful yet it has a really vibrant nighttime scene that includes some top notch restaurants, do your homework on location we were in the private villa end of blue haven bay which is faultless but located at the quiet ned of town (think Nusa Dua) we easily remedied this with a cheap car hire that allowed us flexibility but next time I would probably stay up near El Barrio as this is the real heart of Koh Chang pumping with life and vibrancy. All in all don’t miss Koh Chang it leaves most other islands for dead in my humble opinion.

My new favourite island in Thailand.
My new favourite island in Thailand. For me finding a quiet beach to sit, relax and read is perfect. But yet there are still lots of bars and restaurants to go to. And lots of activities that can be arranged easily if you wish to. My day trip around the island was fabulous and well worth the money and included a lovely lunch. Transport was easy with the taxis going past constantly. Everyone I met, both Thai and tourists were lovely and friendly. I would definitely come again.

very lovely location , the best part of all beaches in Koh Chang even I explored all , the garden villa was excellent , people take care everyday the room and the place generally, the matress very comfortable and the ac without noisy which is common in Thailand , the breakfast was gorgeous with a lot of variations and huge buffet , the staff was real very friendly and not fake.
if I will be back to koh Chang I will book the same hotel for sure even it’s overpriced
The hotel is very good and located on a nice beach. The hotel staff is super friendly and do their outmost to help with booking scooters, taxis, transfers, etc. The pool area is lovely and the massage offered was very good. The breakfast buffet was large (although a lot of cooked food) and service perfect. We had one dinner at the hotel when they had their BBQ night, which was lovely.
