Recommended by some Aussie friends, this place was perfect, we ended up extending our stay. Large comfortable room with quiet aircon, great beds, hot water and reliable internet. Nice pool area. We didn't try the restaurant/bar. The guy on reception is just amazing, he REALLY goes out of his way to look after you and let you know in advance of anything happening (e.g. planned power outages in the region). Other staff also wonderful, and always smiling.

This place is amazing, so friendly, nice bungalows, great pool, and treated like family. Also showed me an app that has an amazing exchange rate and no banking fees. Talking around 25% more money using his way, would never stay anywhere else in Ko chang, you couldn't find an all round hotel and owners. Nearly forgot he also has every sorting event, TV from 30 countries and all pov events. Best place on the island. Your mad if you don't stay here

Saffron on the Sea is a hidden gem! So peaceful and such a beautiful location with well-maintained tropical gardens and next to the ocean. Our room was lovely, nicely designed and comfortable bed with a nice sea view and deck chair outside to relax. The restaurant/bar was excellent too, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and cannot fault the food! Highly recommend the banana leaf salad and spicy basil with beef. The cocktails at sunset were the highlight for us! The sunset was spectacular with perfect views from the deck. The staff here were all so friendly and helpful, we can't thank them enough for making our stay so lovely.

The huts were super cute, we requested one looking onto the water. The towels get replaced every 3 days but you do get supplied seperate beach towels along with regular bath ones. The reception had provided a lot of information regarding different activities and were able to help book. The restaurant had a large menu, we ate there quite a few times and never had the same thing twice!

Koh Chang is great for anyone who wants to experience Thai island life in better preserved locales than more touristic areas - like the islands in Krabi.
It offers raw, bustling landscapes and nature along with some conveniences, restaurants for all tastes and quite a few lovely resorts still.
Although it lacks white sand beaches, its pristine rivers and waters as well as a few islets along the shores and other natural wonders more than make up for it. If nature is your thing, Elephant Island - Koh Chang - is definitely worth a visit.

It's an amazing place. Yes not many "entertainment venues".
It's an amazing place. Yes not many "entertainment venues". But it has everything one may want or look for. I would, at least from the abundance of nature and number trails, would place Koh Chang above koh samui and koh phangan. It's a very different place...very quiet very beautiful. The second time here certainly will be in my wish list.

Ko Chang is a wonderful island due to the island being largely national park with mountains and tropical forest. It’s surrounded by other islands, some of which (eg Ko Laoya) deserve the label ‘tropical paradise’. The west coast has some nice beaches, but the east end of the island which has far fewer people and fewer resorts is in many ways even more beautiful, where you are surrounded by mountains and verdant forest.
Ko Chang is easy to get to with many ferries across every day and has excellent resorts and tourist facilities. As it is a large island, a car or a motorbike is useful. As the east end of the island has far fewer cars it is suitable for exploring by pushbike.

It’s a beautiful island split between left and right.
It’s a beautiful island split between left and right. Turn right off the ferry and you enter the tourists haven with restaurants , bars, shops, scooter hire, and all the hotels and guest houses you can find. Turn left and its rocky beaches, jungle and local villages.

Well where do I start? Ko Chang has been the most amazing island we visited so far. People were so friendly, the beach were not crowder — so many food options to choose from. Honestly, 3 weeks stay was too short in our opinion. Will definitely come back for more 😊

Everything! A hotel that deserves completely its evaluation on Booking. The staff is very nice, always ready to help. The location of the hotel is great especially if you have a bike or a moto (which they can arrange for you). The mangrove scenery is beautitul and you can explore it freely with the paddle or the canoe they will freely give you. The room is big, nicely decorated and very comfortable. It's definitely a 10 / 10. Would come back every time.
Resort is located right in the middle of the busy strip of hotels, restaurants and shops that line the west coast of Ko Chang. It has a small but pleasant beachfront and a small but refreshing pool. Breakfast is plentiful if nothing fancy for Thailand. Rooms are simple but clean and regularly serviced. It is extremely well priced though making this an excellent choice for budget conscious travellers.
It didn't feel like a stay in a hotel, it was a home for us, made by the owners and other guests who treated us as family. What you reed in the other reviews about the food, the kindness, the nice pool and lovin' dogs is all true.
