I like seen romanian decorations in room, clean, quiet.
The place is underrated, has so much potential. While I traveled many times through it, I never stopped for more that a few minutes. But I discovered Rm. Valcea as a clean, cozy and pretty well structured city. It definitely deserves at least 3 days of staying to discover its secrets.

It's a fine place to stay on your way to somewhere else or just as a quick and accessible get away. Not a pretty city, but there are things to do in and around the city. We would recommend eating at Simfonia and going to the Lotrisor Falls.

A large chunk of the town is just in the famous communist fashion - boring blocks of flats, lots of concrete. Instead there is a part with nice houses and lots of green. There's also a nice park and a huge wandering area in the nature. I recommend the town just for that.
Lots of nice places to visit are within one hour driving - both nature and man-made: mountains to climb, gorges, caves, monasteries and churches, folk art.

Perfect small hotel in the city centre. Rooms are very cearfully equipped so you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. There is a mini bar for your disposal, very good breakfast and two good Restaurants within facility.
It's a good place to take a rest between Transfagrasan and Transalpina. Biker friendly.
The owner is a very kind person. Have a small shop, right inside a hotel. Beverages 5+
