Gorgeous location and facility- wish we had been able to try the restaurant but we came on days that it was closed. Would recommend this space - our rooms were large and spacious, we had a little deck to enjoy as well as a kitchenette. Staff was incredibly warm and helpful and gave us great recommendations on places to eat and explore.

The house and the room was really clean and the owner was really nice. But somehow the atmosphere was not cozy. Maybe the reason was cold floor both in the room and the bathroom (I really missed my flip-flops).. Maybe the moisture (you could see the water drops on the celing in te bathroom).. or maybe it was just because of the humidity in outside.. I don't know. But we got what we paid for - fair enough.. Btw - there is no air conditioning in the room. But if it'll be to warm, you can open the door to the terrace.

Known for being the first settlement of Sao Miguel and now it is a pretty little town with old streets leading to the harbor.
The local church, Nissan Senhora do Rosario is thought to have been the first parish on the island.
Also, there is a Wheat Museum not too far away and worth checking out.

Povoacao is small but big enough town with everything one needs for a great stay and relaxation. I would say, 10 days would be better than 7 days for a complete retreat without overpaying and "hustle and bustle" of a bigger city.

The village is very small, not much to see.
The village is very small, not much to see. It's a quiet place and a nice place to relax.
Unfortunately it's a bit too far from the tons of points of interest outside the village. The roads to the village provide a fantastic view for the car passengers but with a lot of steep curves.

The house is very beautiful and cosy and the location if absolutely amazing, offering incredible views of Povoacao region.
The owner is wonderful and she offered us local products, such as tea, biscuits, pastries, juices, making our experience a unique one. She also offered us goodbye gifts she made herself, so this is absolutely an unforgettable place and I highly recommend it.
Our stay at Miguel's place in Povoacao was fantastic. The room in his house was nicely renovated, cozy, and clean, providing a comfortable retreat after exploring the island. Miguel's warm hospitality made our experience even better, as he was attentive and helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend his place for a pleasant and welcoming accommodation.
I had an excellent time at Casa da Lomba do Cavaleiro. The place was very nice and the owner Rodrigo was extremely friendly and welcoming. I came to Povoacao for a race and he came to see me along the course and at the arrival. I highly recommend to stay at Casa da Lomba do Cavaleiro, this will feel like being home with your family.
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. The jacuzzi tub was a nice surprise and we found the pillows to be comfortable. Location was nice and parking was easy.
