The property is amazing. Everything is thought of, never been in such a well equipped rental. It’s been very professionally and beautifully finished. The beds are comfortable and the location is very calm and private. Mario, the host, is extremely helpful. We had some issues with our rental bikes and he lent us tools and fixed a tire, and pointed us in the right direction for a shop to get it replaced. Everyone in the area spoke English very well and was extremely helpful. There are many supermarkets and shops close by.
Located in a valley surrounded by trees, Terra Nostra Garden offers elegantly decorated rooms. Next to the Terra Nostra Botanical Park, it features indoor and outdoor pools.

Second time, with 2 smaller rooms this time instead of suite, but all the same exceptional experience! Top service and attitude, great and comfortable rooms with lovely balconies, excellent and locally infused breakfast, great diners with superb service, wide choice of local wines and local dishes, from classics to new ideas. All tasty, and new sushi restaurant was perfect too. The hotel reminds me Belmond properties, and I'm not clear why it is claimed as 4 star only - as it is much more superior than their sister flagship Grand Hotel Atlantico in Ponda Delgada, and certainly amongst most sought after places to stay at Sao Miguel. Will come back.
Just 150 metres from the Lake of Furnas, these modern, 4-star apartments come with free WiFi in all areas and views of the lush green fields. It has an outdoor pool with sun-lounger terrace.

excellent staff, service & breakfast. Property a bit tired, but it is about to be renovated. Hopefully that will deal with the humidity in the rooms

Wonderful house in the fantastic Furnas! It's a very traditional house with a soul and very tranquile athmosphere. It is situated very close to Pocas da d.Beija hot springs - which is my favorite place in Furnas.
We had very nice time there and already dreaming to come back one day!

Known for being the first settlement of Sao Miguel and now it is a pretty little town with old streets leading to the harbor.
The local church, Nissan Senhora do Rosario is thought to have been the first parish on the island.
Also, there is a Wheat Museum not too far away and worth checking out.

Povoacao is small but big enough town with everything one needs for a great stay and relaxation. I would say, 10 days would be better than 7 days for a complete retreat without overpaying and "hustle and bustle" of a bigger city.

The village is very small, not much to see. It's a quiet place and a nice place to relax.
Unfortunately it's a bit too far from the tons of points of interest outside the village. The roads to the village provide a fantastic view for the car passengers but with a lot of steep curves.

Owners are welcoming and helpful! Love the quietness of the location, surrounded by nature/farms. Perfect for when you want down time!
Kitchen is very well equipped! Owners provided outdoor tables and chairs to enjoy your meal overlooking such beautiful rolling hills and vista.
If you don't have a car. The bus 318 stops just 2 mins from the Quinta. The market (Casa Cheia) is about 10 mins walk. Povoaçao town is about 20-30 mins walk. There's beaches in town that are good for swimming with black sand.
Our stay at Miguel's place in Povoacao was fantastic. The room in his house was nicely renovated, cozy, and clean, providing a comfortable retreat after exploring the island. Miguel's warm hospitality made our experience even better, as he was attentive and helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend his place for a pleasant and welcoming accommodation.
The hosts, the views, they do laundry for guests who stay 3 nights or more, gorgeous garden, the BBQ area, the hammocks, beautifully appointed apartment with kitchen. Povoacao is a brilliant place for kids with an infinity pool, play area & mini golf (all free) - 5 minute drive away. Breakfast was tasty.
Rodrigo runs his Casa with heart: you feel like home, he has many good advices if you want them, eating breakfast with magnificent view of the sea with great music in the background… what is not to like! Povoaçao area is very interesting area to discover!
