We had an absolutely amazing stay at Aldeia da Cuada and felt right at home every time we returned from a long day exploring the magical island of Flores. This truly hidden gem in the middle of the Atlantic is an old 17th-century village abandoned in the 1960s and lovingly restored by its owners. The traditional cobblestone houses offer breathtaking views of the ocean, mountains, and waterfalls, creating an atmosphere of pure tranquility. It’s just a 5-minute drive to one of the island’s most famous and enchanting spots, Poço da Ribeira do Ferreiro. Aldeia da Cuada has everything you need to feel like you’ve stepped into a Tolkien fairy tale.
An exceptional location—so much more than just a hotel! The warm pool, cozy houses, comfortable beds, and the best breakfasts with incredible variety made our stay unforgettable. The restaurant serves delicious, flavorful, and fresh food, clearly prepared with love. Considering the limited availability of products on the island (as seen in the half-empty supermarket shelves), the dining experience felt like stepping into a Michelin-starred establishment.
The staff was amazing—attentive, friendly, and delivering top-notch service that truly impressed us. Goreti is an absolutely amazing host who made us feel so welcome.
To top it all off, when our flight was canceled, we spent another perfect day at the hotel, making an unexpected situation feel like a gift.
