The breakfast of lovely with a lot of variety. The hotel was right next to the bus stop and very close to the Marina ... which was our meeting point for all our tours anyway. Old town was also soo close by. The location was perfect actually. The room was lovely, very spacious and the view of the Marina from the window was also lovely. All in all, it was a lovely experience. Infact after we checked out, they have us a place to keep our luggage as our bus was leaving in the night. We went swimming that day as they let us use the pool facilities of the Hotel as well. Highly recommended.

The hotel offered great value, though I cannot comment on breakfast. The hotels position could not be bettered. Turn right and a few yards down the bank and you are in the main square. Go down the steps almost in front of the hotel and you are on the river front. Turn left, and you’re only steps away from the Mare restaurant, (on top of the fish market) with the best views in Lagos. Yet, although so central, it was a very quiet street. I have some walking difficulties, but I managed fine.
The staff in the hotel were excellent without exception, going above and beyond where they could. The cleanliness of the hotel is also worthy of mention. We enjoyed our tiled balcony, (no view but not overlooked), and also the rooftop terrace with brilliant views out to sea and the city.

We had a wonderful time in this family-run boutique hotel. It is really a little gem that you discover just after the door opens. Quiet neighborhood, welcoming helpful staff who made us feel like home, nice garden with a pool and a good buffet breakfast. We stayed in an older building with standard rooms, very clean and cozy, there is also another building with modern design and superior rooms, rooftop jacuzzi tub and a gym.
The hotel is in almost equal proximity to five different beaches, old town and marina, all within easy reach, a pleasant 20 min walk or 5 min bus ride. It seemed at first the hotel is too far from old town and beaches to walk back and forth. But then we realized that staying away from the busy tourist area feels very peaceful and relaxing.
Thank you to the amazing staff, Lina, Carla, Leonor, Leticia and Rita!

With a long and rich history, Lagos is nowadays a famous beach resort of the sunny Portuguese region of Algarve. Including wide sandy beaches and quiet coves enclosed by ochre cliffs, it also offers a lively city centre with one of the best mixes between history and modernity in the region.
King Henry the Navigator chose it as a base for his trips of discovery during the 15th century, and later on, it became the residence of the Algarve governors. The Old Town is circled by medieval walls, typical narrow streets, historic buildings and charming squares. B&B’s and hotels in Lagos’s historic centre allow you to enjoy these picturesque surroundings.
Apart from being an important centre for sailing, the city has amazing beaches, like Meia Praia or Praia da Dona Ana. Resorts and hotels on Lagos’ beaches are the perfect choice for sun lovers, while the hotels near the modern Lagos Marina are popular, as they are both close to the centre and the railway station.
The city is 90 km from Faro Airport, and 24 km from Portimão. Check out the Lagos hotels deals on Booking.com before travelling!

It is a small, picturesque town with a relaxing vibes, beautiful sunset and a nice cliff alongside beach.
My complaing is that it has become a boisterous party place and attracts loud groups of youngsters. We didnt know that. So if you plan to go here, pls know it wont be a small quiet town.

Beautiful place.
Beautiful place. Lots to do, lots of beaches which are all lovely. Plenty of days out available and lots of boat trips ie, dolphin watching, kayaking. The Marina is a great place to sit and watch the world go by with good restaurants and bars. The town centre has a real mix of shops and again plenty of places to eat and drink.

Far too touristy with some base elements.
Far too touristy with some base elements. Ok if you're young and carefree, but for the discerning visitor the brashness is too much. That said, I suspect that when the town is quieter, it's better qualities would stand out and be easier to discern.

Lagos is a beautiful old city with modern hotels and apartments outside the walled centre.
There are plenty of beaches and experiences to be seen and a fabulous board walk on both Meia Praia and Camilo .
Public transport is great with buses to most locations. The blue route links from Poto da Mos via Donna Anna to Meia Praia .
There is an abundance of good quality restaurants , go for the more traditional small ones for authentic food. The marina has a good vibe and some nice bars serving food.
The zoo is worth a visit and is on a bus route
Ther is something for all ages in Lagos and the surrounding area
The hotel is in a fantastic location next to Lagos Bus Station and opposite the Marina. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. The rooms were immaculately clean, and spacious. We enjoyed the breakfast in the hotel which had a great selection of food and beverages.
The hotel pool, whilst small is excellent and situated on the rooftop, which provides great views of the area. Would definitely visit again.
Hotel reataurant had amazing views (similar to view from our room) and turned out to be one of the best rstaurants in Lagos. Restaurant staff were fun and efficient. 3 minute walk to Praia Dona Ana, trail head to cliff walk to lighthouse was right outnour door, views were incredible. Walk to town (15-20 minutes) had amazing views as well.
This is the only place we would ever stay in Lagos - why? because of the 5 star team, service and breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble. Feels like being part of the family. Can’t wait for our next stay with João, Maria and Carla. Thank you all once again for the best time.
We have had the best time at Dom Manuel and Lagos in general.
Thank you to the wonderful staff who made our trip even better.
The hotel itself is exceptional
Thank you ❤️❤️
