Beto was incredibly responsive and helpful. The property was beautiful and remote, a great place to relax for a few days. The house was comfortable, with great amenities. The entire staff were friendly and always smiling. This place is a must-visit on São Jorge.

Peaceful and dreamy, I loved everything about Abrigo da Cascata. Modern room and heavenly comfortable bed, in an historical building with lovely, manicured grounds. Helpful owner and staff were a delight. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and the calls of the shearwater birds were my favorite.

We liked the cabanas, very spacious and clean. Nice terrace surrounded by nature. Beautiful view of Pico mountain. Jorge, the owner, was very welcoming. The restaurant was a good PLUS to have. It is very good cuisine.

Beautiful views and well appointed to relax after exploring the island. The home is located in one of the Fajas, about 10 minutes from the main road. Paula was very helpful during our stay. The views from the balcony area were amazing!

The view from the property is amazing. You get the see the ocean and Pico island right from your balcony.
The location is also very convenient to explore Sao Jorge island. It's centrally located with easy access to main island roads.
Lastly, the best restaurant (Art Restaurant Manezinho) in our opinion is just 5 mins drive from the property.

Stunning place, perfect for a break away from the city.
Stunning place, perfect for a break away from the city. The hiking trails are nice, and you can witness both sunset and sunrise. No cars are allowed, so it's very quiet and peaceful. For those that like surfing, it offers good surfing, You can also kayak, SUP and so on! There are a couple of waterfalls nearby.
It is quite isolated, with no cash machines and limited offers for food and drinks, but it is fine!
Getting there can be a bit expensive. Get a taxi to the top of the mountain and hike down for a better experience. Or take a taxi to the Fajã dos Cubres, about a 5km hike away, which is also gorgeous.

Definitely stay more than one day, and do trail down stay for a few days (if you love peace and quite) and exit by completing the trail until Fajã dos Cubres.
