The staff were friendly, the food and service in the restaurant was great and mainly full of locals enjoying a family meal. The gardens were well cared for and the decor was authentic. I like the fact there was plenty of parking for guests and visitors.

Nestled in the centre of the Douro Valley, across the river from the town of Peso da Régua, the designer hotel Vila Galé Douro features an expansive spa with a large indoor swimming pool.
We rented a car at Porto airport. It took us about 2 hours in easy driving to reach the place. Carlos provides the address for navigation, the parking at the house is to be reached with a small downhill road.
I would highly recommend the place for anyone who wish to have a few quiet days.
