The close proximity of everything in the town is brilliant. No cars, just lovely shops and restaurants, not forgetting the history with the walled city, and a trip up the tower in the centre. Don't forget the patisseries, they are just wow! Poland in general is a great value place to visit for a low cost holiday.

A fantastic town with the old town as unesco heritage! There is plenty to visit, many nice places to eat or party and all in the medieval town scenery! The Vistula river is an additional highlight! Do not forget to visit the house of Copernicus who grew up there and to tastevthe famous ginger bread from Torun!

It's an amazing medieval city, a real pearl. Very interesting and underrated. Buy some gingerbread cookies at Iga Szarzynska, eat a delightful lunch at Szamanko (looks a bit like a fast food bar, but has a Michelin star-worth menu, every ingredient is home made and cautiously prepared).

Probably our 3rd stay in this hotel but first time in the original granary building. Very comfortable, warm, even "cosy", room highlighted by the very large wooden beams for walls and ceiling. Plenty of space in the room and large comfortable double bed. Excellent breakfast buffet with huge choice of cooked food and cold table (cheeses, pates, meats, salads etc). Very good regional dishes for dinner too. A short walk from the old town heart, close to the river Vistula, but this means its location is very quiet.
Hotel Halo Toruń is from now on my preferred hotel in Toruń (and I stay in Toruń regularly). It's in a quiet street near the river, but also just a stone's throw from the centre. The room was enormous and comfortable, and my wife, a vegan, was delighted at the variety for breakfast.
The property met a high standard, featuring a comfortable bed and accommodating, amiable staff — a notable advantage given that such service is not always expected in Poland.
