We were with a 2month old baby and staff did everything we asked for to make our stay comfortable. Hotel is modern and has a great pool area with floating stuff for kids even smallest ones. Great breakfast untill 11 so there is time to get some coffee after the swim :) very good dinner in the hotel restaurant as well.

One of the few places aside from apartments and chain hotels, like Hampton or Best Western, that have multiple beds (including one larger bed than a twin) in a single room - it's annoying having to rent multiple rooms as a family because most rooms in Poland only have 1-2 twin beds in them. Very close to the university campus and downtown.

My favorite restaurant was the Karczma Nad Łyną, that serves really good food and has a nice terrace as well.

You can both go sightseeing, then go swimming, then rent a boat.
Did I mention forests? They are great too.
Add ok public transport to the mix, and You have great place for slow, relaxing vacations.

We stayed in Olztyn for one night only as a stop-over during a long car trip. We enjoyed the town as it was very cozy, the locals were friendly and the restaurant we ate at was very nice. I would visit Olztyn for 2-3 days again.

Nice, small Polish city. Some interesting buildings - easy to walk around and get where I needed to go. People I spoke to were ok though you need to try some Polish (same throughout the country which is fine). Poland is what you expect.

Olsztyn is an historic town whose history, like so much of Eastern Europe, is complicated. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring and learning - and relaxing of course ( in summer there is a town beach to use). Public transport is cheap and easy (make sure you have the jakdojade app on your phone - big help). We ate in different restaurants from Polish (with a fish specialty because of the region) to Greek and Indian - they were all excellent.
Now we have "done" the town we would look to explore the surrounding area.

Summer time on the beach. So many lakes to choose from. But Miejska beach have most to offer and its on the biggest lake. Bike routes around city's forests. "Ges i zajac" is serving great goose dishes at main street of Old Town. End of May "Kortowiada" 3-4 nights of parties at Kortowo, students part of city. Beach parties and more.
Olsztyn is for active ppl. Will say couples 20-30 y o.
During winter try "Bojery" Ice Yacht Racing if you dare on Ukiel Lake.
We had a great night at Philharmony, which is only 5 minute’s walk from the hotel.
Even though the restaurant at the hotel was closed after our return, our dinner which we have ordered earlier was ready. A lovely lady brought it to our room. We had probably the best fillet steak in Olsztyn served in our bedroom.
Could not ask for a nicer surprise.
Breakfast was great and not rushed. We took our time to enjoy the morning coffee and food.
Next time in Olsztyn we will definitely stay in the same hotel.
Excellent apartment 300 meters to Olsztyn Zachodni railway station, 1 km to two big lakes, and 400 meters to the city center. 5 separate beds. The host met us even earlier and gave us the keys. Also host prepared some minor surprises as a bottle of wine, apples, etc. Amazing experience!
