Ate Annabelle (the front desk receptionist) was so friendly and cheerful when we arrived. She also provided us with local recommendations on where to eat, where to go and best spot to watch sunset, etc. The resort itself was so peaceful with their spacious garden. Even though, we only stayed for 2 nights, it was calm and definitely a worthy stay.

The island being small is a bit crowded on the side near the pier and the bounty beach. I haven't explored the northern part of the island so this will make me go back and visit the island again in the future. Good to visit for divers as this is the jumppoint to Kimud shoal where the Thresher sharks frequent to visit.

Malapscua Island is a stunning little island which is not really well known. There are no cars or road on the island, and it takes about an hour to walk the perimeter of the island. There are some stunning untouched beaches and the marine reserve beside Tepanee Resort is amazing. It's a mecca for scuba divers as the famed-Thresher Sharks can be found about 1 hour boat ride from Malapascua. There's a decent selection of bars and restaurants on the island but no party vibe. This is not a place for seedy old men looking for young Filipino girlfriends thankfully.

Well it is quite a long trip from Cebu city as you need take a bus or van (2 hours minimum) up to Maya port then a minimum 30 minute ferry ride(took us 1 hour as waters were rough that day) so we left at 9am got to our hotel after 2pm. It does seem like a mini Boracay as many have described but way less crowded and much quieter. Prices are high like Boracay and night life way more subdued. There are no cars on Malapasqua just motor scooters that share a concrete mini-road which can be annoying for pedestrians as there is constant scooter sneaking up behind you honking their horns. You can rent a scooter for 500 pesos or less per day and ride up to North shore beach which you should absolutely do and enjoy very uncrowded beach with local huts selling beer, drinks & snacks. Many people go diving to see thresher sharks feeding early morning but there is also fair snorkelling spots at various places. I did enjoy Malapasqua overall but I doubt I will return.

Other Reviews confirm same thing, whilst Islamd has a couple nice beaches, it is all about the Diving. We went hoping to do some snorkelling, but r was mixed a seas were a bit rough, so nothing else to do. Summary worth a trip (as difficult place to get to), but only if you are into Diving, or you go when better / calmer weather guaranteed ie more into dry season.

What a wonderful place to find. Very organised fun chaos. Great food, people, music, waters, diving. Market place was fantastic for fresh food BBQ. The Rasta smoothie were EXCELLENT ( main road behind Logon Beach) . The diving was something that will never be forgotten - Gato Island and the Thresher sharks with DIVE NATION - a wonderful team. Thank you.

My experience in Mandurah's has been a pleasure. Mark welcomed and helped us to get used to the island. Also, Nedy, she was always very helpful with anything we needed. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. There is a fan, AC, and hot water! The location is very convenient: 2 minutes from the market. I really recommend Mandurah's to stay in Malapascua :)

Located in front of the beach, so you can enjoy swimming or just kick back and relax, and besides, there are many restaurants along the beach. The staff is very helpful and friendly. If you want to go to Kalanggaman Island, they can arrange the tour for you. We really enjoyed staying here. Thank you very much!

Great location - probably the best hotel on the island and for a reasonable price. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a wide variety and was delicious. We upgraded our room upon arrival and the staff were happy to help.
