Salalah is an awesome place for photography and other arts enthusiasts. It was a great and perfect place to unwind, relax and absolutely connect with nature. My guided tour was amazing and I learned a lot. So glad to have mingled with polite and respectable locals.
Thank you, Salalah and hope to see you again.

Salalah itself has lost some of its charm since I was last there twenty years back, but it remains the ideal base for a self-drive exploration of the surrounding ruins of Samhuran and Baleed, of Taqa and Mirbat towns and of the jebel and negd beyond including Shisr/Ubar and the edge of the Empty Quarter. Thew character of the Dhofari people is priceless.

Starting from the airport, everything was super clean and tidy, and the immigration officers were incredibly helpful. Renting a car was a fantastic decision—it made exploring the city convenient and avoided the hassle of taxi bookings.
The locals were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, adding to the charm of the city.
My stay at Hilton Hotel was beyond my expectations; it truly completed my trip and elevated the overall experience.
City Visits & ratings:
Al Mina Restaurant & Bar (Anantara Al Baleed):
The beach vibes, weather, and good service created a relaxing experience. I’d rate it 8/10.
Old and New Souq in Al Hafa:
A great spot to buy original Luban and quality perfume oils. A unique experience, rated 8/10.
Wadi Darbat:
Absolutely breathtaking! The combination of water, greenery, and free-roaming camels, horses, and cows was magical. A 50-minute drive from the city center but definitely a must-visit.
Overall Rating:
The city left a lasting impression with its beauty and hospitality. However, prices felt a bit high compared to Dubai, where I live. Despite that, my overall experience was a solid 9/10.

We loved Salalah a lot during winter with its mild and misty climate. Salalah is full of greenery, with its green mountains, hills and valleys. It is hard to believe the presence of such a gem with its lovely climate in the Gulf region.
We stayed at Salalah Rotana Resort, which was very clean, quiet and well maintained. The room was spacious with an ocean view. When we arrived, we were met at the reception by Ann who is pleasant lady, very friendly and helpful.
We had food at Saffron and Sik Road restaurants, which was very good. The staff there - Ali, Samin, Magi (hopefully I got it correct), Nia, Anil, Arabi, and Anas - were all courteous and helpful. We wish to thank them all.
We had a tour organized by Salalah Adventures with our tour guide Issa Hobes. He is a wonderful person and tour guide. Ain Athom is a must visit. Driving around Salalah was truly an enjoyment.
On the less positive side, taxis are quite overpriced for tourists though!

We were four family members on a weekend trip to Salalah for the first time to celebrate a birthday. Albaleed Resort was selected for its location, reputation, and services. Albaleed resort staff are exceptional. From ensuring our three deluxe rooms were adjacent as requested to the interactions with all staff throughout the hotel, I ascertain they were accommodating, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure comfort. The resort beach front location is a plus and the rooms were excellent. Breakfast buffet and service was exceptional.
I recently traveled from Al Ain to Salalah and had an excellent stay at the hotel. The service was outstanding, and special thanks to Mr. Yakoob for his exceptional hospitality. The room was comfortable and well-maintained. Highly recommended!
The staff and hospitality is amazing. They did their best to accommodate all our requests. Also, the beach and waves are very nice. Evenings are very romantic and peaceful with amazing sunsets.
