The owner, Andy, was so welcoming and gave good information about the area. Breakfast the next morning with some made to order options was quite a treat. The property is set in a lovely and peaceful orchard - just a great respite at the end of a busy travel day. Close to both Tutukaka and Whaigarei, it was perfectly situated for exploring and for our dive trip the next day to the Poor Knights Islands.

Our favorite place was the marina boardwalk with its restaurants and cafes. This is where we spent most of our time. We made sure we booked a hotel within walking distance. It saves a lot of time driving around looking for car parks. We did drive out to look at the Whangarei water falls which were quite spectacular.

Beautiful walks too and gift shops. Wished we'd stayed longer.

I was brought up in Whangarei and know the place inside-out. It's a lovely place with many places to explore and experience. Underrated but beautiful, with friendly locals. There are plenty of places to sit back and relax. Don't forget to check out the town basin, with its wonderful cafe, glass blowing and clock museum.

I wasn't there long enough and I intend coming back for a decent look around. Loved the town basin, the hundertwasser centre, the rolling ball clock (so clever), the loop walk along the river, the cafes and the friendly people. I was very impressed and of course the great weather!

We enjoyed the Town Basin, especially the Glass blowing and HunterWasser building. Went to Quarry Gardens which was the best part, but also Whangarei Falls - well worth the walk. All well singposted for visitors driving into the town

The staff was soooo kind !!! Even though we have family living in Whangarei. We were in the country organising a surprise 60th for mum and had to hide out somewhere for a few days while doing the last organising for the event. Our lovely host was ever so kind to even offer any help if we needed to get things organised. Offer for us to use the motel fairy lights if need be.
Comfy beds, free in room movies and a crsipy cold Aircon. Quest quality is pretty consistent and Whangarei doesn't disappoint. Check in staff were friendly and attentive, late check out was given and was appreciated after a long drive to town. Walking distance to cafes and movies, ideal location, parking was easy to find and lifts go straight to your floor.
Nice large room, friendly staff, good parking and good beds. The location is excellent. The town center (Town Basin) is just a 15 minute walk, and two supermarkets are about next door. Whangarei also turned out to be more interesting than we had expected.
Excellent location, excellent price for airbnb quality. We rather stayed 3 weeks here than stay shorter in a more expensive hotel. If coming again, definitely my first choice.
