The location is very pretty and quiet within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants and beach. The property has been recently refurbished to a very high standard so the rooms are bright and comfortable with great facilities.
Just 820 feet from sandy Paihia Beach, Paihia Pacific Resort features an outdoor pool. Flat-screen cable TV is standard in all rooms. Free parking is available on site.

We enjoyed this place, great location in regards to walking to town. All kinds of meal options in this little hidden secret tourist town. We had the included morning buffet, they set a excellent variety of breakfast foods. Killer dining room. Our room was everything we needed it to be, comfortable, lots of hot water, many cable station on the TV. The ferry to Russell is 1 block away. Would absolutely return. My wife like the place!

We found that Paihia was very quiet, with not that much to do, but it was a good base to do other things. The trip across to Russell was excellent, the boat cruise was good, the flight to Cape Reinga was excellent. There were plenty of restaurants and bars too, but the quality of the restaurants was average (Russell is much better) and the bars were generally very quiet.

Waitangi is stunning and needs a full day.
Waitangi is stunning and needs a full day. A trip on the water to Hole in the Rock is worthwhile. Plenty of good food and drink in Paihia. And the heritage train at Opua is also an interesting experience

Paihia is a lovely destination, We only had 2 1/2 days, and it wasn't enough, plenty of places we would have liked to visit and try the food at. Recommend a longer stay and breath in the sunshine!

The Scenic Hotel Bay of Islands is a large, sprawling establishment and this suited us down to the grounds because we didn't have to live cheek and jowl with lots of neighbours. We were quietly oblivious of anyone else in the vicinity. The dining room was just a nice distance from our room, to give us a small bit of exercise when we walked from one to the other. The Hotel is only slightly away from the main beach and shops, so walking to and fro was a pleasant excursion.
This is the best hostel I've stayed at in New Zealand so far!!! The location was amazing. It is right in the centre of Paihia, surrounded by restaurants and shops. The lounge was my favourite. It overlooked the sea and was well decorated. It is a cosy place to unwind at the end of the day. The whole place was also exceptionally clean. Plus, when I visited, the all-female staff were super lovely and made a female solo traveller like me feel very comfortable indeed.
We have stayed here a few times because averill court truly is a place for anyone wanting that relaxing holiday stay . It is family friendly with an awesome host, the units are spacious with comfortable beds., the wi fi is great, T V has sky & Netflix , shower pressure is spot on , great walk to beach & town, parking right outside rooms & a pool & hot tub , great value for your money. Love staying here when we are in Paihia
