The cottage is beautifully presented - the decor and furnishings are lovely and the kitchen has everything we needed. Julia, our host, left us home made granola, baking , jams and fresh fruit, which was so thoughtful . The grounds are beautiful and it was wonderful. It was such a pleasure to be there.Everything about the place was fantastic . I couldn’t recommend it more highly .

The room was incredibly clean, very peaceful and quiet. We had a small patio where we drank our coffee before breakfast. There wasn't anything not to like about the breakfast!! There were so many choices, cooked to order and incredibly fresh. The yogurt was homemade (some of the best I've ever had) and a lot of the fruit was grown on or very near their property. Our hosts were not the least bit intrusive, and they worked so hard to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They had excellent suggestions for things to do and places to see in the area.
We arrived as strangers and left two days later as friends.

Sculptureum - great value for money, such an interesting unusual place to spend a couple of hours.
Donkeys at Highfield Gardens Reserve - a must for any animal lover. Only carrots, apples or spinach may be fed, so go prepared.
Take a drive to the local beaches. Omaha Beach is ideal to walk and stop for an ice cream or sorbet at the Superette.

Great little village with heaps to do and great Farmers' Market.
We hired ebikes to do the bike trail from Matakana to Omaha Beach, stopping of at the incredible Sculptureum and then Farmer's Daughter for lunch.
Drinks at #8 Wired cellar door and dinner at Sawmill Smoko Room, breakfast treats and fantastic coffee from Ringawera Bakery, and brunch at Market Kitchen... and that was just 2 days' worth!

Great little shops, cafes and restaurants.
Great little shops, cafes and restaurants. A short drive from the town and you find yourselves in Tawharanui Regional Park - a sanctuary for native birds, with walking tracks and lovely beaches. We stayed there for a night en route from Tauranga to Bay of Islands - and would definitely visit again.

We had dinner at the Matakana Market kitchen which was lovely, good food, great wine list, and good service considering the COVID short staff issues.

Beautiful village with lots of eating places. We loved the Farmers Market especially the lovely fresh food on sale at the market.
Iconic toilets. Close to Sculptarium and Reptile Park. Surrounded by beautiful beaches about 20 minutes away from Matakana Village.
- fabulous location. 5 mins to Omaha Beach, 5 mins to Matakana and beautiful views of the estuary. Very quiet.
- great deck with outdoor seating and dining
- decent kitchen, equipped with a good range of appliances.
- spacious living area with large tv on the wall
- 2 decent sized double bedrooms. Might feel tight for 4 people. But good for 2 friends or a couple.
Second visit to Plume and fabulous stay as always. Had a beautiful two bedroom villa with a lovely rural view. Location is quiet and safe and close to Matakana and local restaurants. Enjoyed swimming in the on-site pool which is a comfortable temperature and immaculately clean. Thank you again Denise and Nick for another lovely break away from home!
We loved our stay at Low House! It was a wonderful getaway after our wedding to relax and rest, and low house was so peaceful, quiet and beautiful. The location of this apartment was lovely as it looked out onto the garden and bush, very quiet and relaxing. Short stroll to the main shopping area of Matakana. Well appointed kitchen, laundry and bathroom. Tasteful and clean furnishings plus a very comfy bed. Great off street parking as well.
