I stayed for luck in this hostel because I lost my bus to Nelson, everything was full and suddenly I found a free room so it was my only option. But it was a perfect experience. The room was spacious and very clean, beds are made of wood, the mattress is very comfortable.
I did the check out at 10 but I stayed in the common areas until the departure of my bus. I liked this place so much.

Stunning location and very cool property that is perfect for families. Be careful with exploring- we had an accident. Loved the paddle-boarding and glow-worms. Very patchy internet connections. Views from the rooms wonderful. Cafe has good food and coffee although pricey. I would bring more food to self-cater another time. Appreciated access to a laundry.

We loved everything about our stay at Lochmara Lodge. We stayed for two nights with our family and It was a little bit of a splurge, but did not disappoint! The location was stunning, the fact that you got there by water taxi made it remote and uncrowded, and there were plenty of things to do (hike, paddleboard, kayak). Also, the food was delicious and the staff was accommodating and helpful.
