Amazing place to stay for 3 nights while we attended Festival One at Hartford Farm. Warm welcome from Tracey and Reggie the friendly cat. Beautiful views, wonderful private 2 bedroom apartment at back of house...with everything you need...lovely homemade baking when we arrived and breakfast supplies and other snacks...really well looked after in so many ways. Even when the rain came and we left festival early on the Sunday..it was so wonderful to come back to the warm cosy apartment and rest, eat and play card games. Beds are so comfortable and rooms are warm and shower is great.Both rooms have great outlook to the nature surroundings. So peaceful and relaxing and quiet!! Our car had a flat battery when we were leaving today and Tracey kindly got her neighbour Blair to come and give us a jump-start. Thank you Blair again! If you are looking for a place to stay in the karapiro area....this is definitely the place to stay. Thank you Tracey and Shane for your great hospitality!!!! Missing this place already!!

Shona met us and was really friendly and helpful. There were toys ready for our toddler which was a nice touch and he settled in with those straight away! Lovely big space and amazing view. There were also breakfast bits for us to use and food to cook a quick pasta meal were available which was really handy.

We had an excellent stay at Tamme and Callum’s place. They were wonderful hosts who made us feel right at home. The house is easy to get to, and it’s tucked away in a quiet area with beautiful views. The guesthouse is both spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom is exceptionally clean. We also had a great time playing with their lovely dog, Benny. Highly recommended!

A perfect stay! Beautiful location, lovely grounds, very comfortable accommodation with everything you would need including continental breakfast and snacks. Very comfortable for our family of 4! Sharon was a lovely host. Perfect place to stay for a quick drive to Hobbiton. We would love to return.

A great stopover point if travelling long distances in the north island. We usually stay in Hamilton, but Karapiro has beautiful scenery, peace and serenity and just a short drive from Cambridge for restaurants, shops and petrol.

There is nothing in Karapiro except some houses, a dam and a single cafe. I'm sure if you're into watersports it's great. We stayed two nights in order to visit the Hobbiton movie set, and that was enough Karapiro for us. Expect to drive to Cambridge at least once a day for dining or supplies whilst staying in Karapiro.

The country atmosphere was wonderful.
The country atmosphere was wonderful. We really enjoyed the modern facilities and the quietness after living in Auckland all our lives. Very relaxing and only 12 minutes drive into Matamata township and Hobbiton was only 7 kilometres away.
We ate at Osteria Italian Restaurant. Magnificent food but slightly expensive.
We had lunch at Ronnie’s Cafe. Always yummy and very reasonably priced
