Very convenient location for major sites and train station. Views were spectacular from our room on the 32nd floor.
Only downside was the noise from above (literally hear high heels walking across the floor until the early hours). Also refurbishment was ongoing but we were warned of this at check-in. Having.said that I would happily endure a little noise in exchange for the view.

Excellent, central location and found the hotel to be well-styled. The breakfast offered lots of choice, availability and great quality - cereal, hot cooked breakfast, fruit, hams, cheese, waffles, bread and a variety of drinks. The beds were comfortable, room temperature easy to adjust and quiet despite its central position. Staff all very friendly and helpful with questions.

Sunny side of the street! Fabulous central location on Karl Johan, easy walking distance from Nationaltheatre & T-banen/Flytoget, Aker Brygge, Rådhuset osv. A frantic last minute booking with a discount, and well worth it. The staff were exceptionally kind, helpful and very friendly. Immaculate rooms, super comfy beds, good power shower with toiletries, cosy lighting and best of all very peaceful. Delicious breakfast with a wonderful spread of goodies and juices. Would happily stay there again.

Spreading for hundreds of kilometres from the mouth of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the largest city by area in Europe and is liberally covered in pristine forests rising up into the outlying hills. South of the unassuming city hall lies a vibrant waterfront known as Aker Brygge, which in summer is full of bustling outdoor restaurants and bars.
For the prettiest buildings head to affluent inner-city suburbs of Frogner and Fagerborg, or admire the traditional Scandinavian wooden houses of Bygdøy and Holmenkollen. Monumental buildings include the Royal Palace which runs daily tours and the Akershus Festning, which is a medieval castle that also served as a military base and provides impressive views of the Oslofjord. Oslo City Hall, or rådhus, offers even more distinctive architecture and it is the location of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.
Nature is never far away in Oslo which is ringed by an archipelago of islands which are extremely popular in summer. Hiking, kayaking and sailing are all easily achievable within the city limits. Just as popular, are the many museums. The national Museum houses Edvard Munch’s famous painting The Scream and Viking Ship Museum containing long-lost relics from Norway’s Viking past.
From downtown Sentrum to the Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the stunning statues in Frogner Park, Booking.com has over 80 hotels and other accommodations available.
Great city that exceeded my expectations! We travelled here early February and despite the cold (-10C!) we had a really great trip. So many options for food and activities depending on what you like but there's definitely something for everybody. I would say it's a pretty expensive city in terms of eating out and alcohol particularly is very pricey! But in terms of transport/activities/supermarkets everything else is very affordable.
One of the highlights of our trip was a boat trip along the Oslofjord which was absolutely stunning and a must do at any time of year in my opinion! Was a really great way to see a completely different side to Oslo outside of the city. Another fun activity we did was sledging at Korketrekkeren, which was super easy to get to and really cheap sled rental for the day! If you're going to Oslo for a winter break and enjoy outdoor activities this is an absolute must!!
Overall a great city and will definitely be back!

Visit the information centre at Oslo Central.
Visit the information centre at Oslo Central. Staff are so, so helpful. Once we'd ascertained what we wanted to see we opted for the 48hr Oslo Pass. Good value for money and made using public transport very easy.
Visit the Holmenkollen ski jump. Amazing! We took the tram right to the end of the line and also visited the rose garden museum. In winter you can sledge down to Holmenkollen if you wish (free) but not for the feint hearted.
The Fram museum is also great. All about the history of polar exploration which we really enjoyed. Go for the day and visit all the museums there. All good.

The return train ticket from the Airport to city is much cheaper from onsite ticket machines than booking in advance online with Flytoget, we didn't use buses or trams around the city but they are frequent and often. The Royal palace is a good walk with views overlooking the city centre and changing of the guard is at 1.30 pm. If you like statues then Oslo is the place for you with plenty of photo opportunities!! A pint cost us from £6.50 to £8.75 depending on vendor but wine is expensive, apparently alcohol can only be ordered across Norway from the government and not available from cash and carries, micro breweries or the like, although off sales from shops or supermarkets are allowed. A bit of duty free on the way through the airport is a good idea.

Oslo is a paradise for nature lovers!
Oslo is a paradise for nature lovers! The city is perfect for walking around, with stunning views of the sea and plenty of green spaces to explore. The Fram Museum is a must-visit, offering an exceptional experience that combines history and adventure. Although the short daylight hours in winter can be challenging for some, I found it fascinating to watch how the sun moves across the sky—it added a unique charm to the experience.
One thing to keep in mind is that food in Oslo is quite expensive: snacks and soups in bakeries are 50-100NOK, food portions in street food markets and pubs is around 200K while dining in a restaurant goes more than 500NOK and requires reservation wll in advance. Beers and glass of wine is around 100NOK.
P.S. I have not visited another Scandi city before
