Amazing views over the canyon when the clouds allow visibility. It's got a lovely story to it and although it's very old fashioned we found that to be part of the charm. The staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome. We loved the viewing platform over the waterfall and the walk.

Breakfast was excellent with a good selection. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was big and with a tub! There were ample space to put my own products in the shower and near the wash basin.

We stayed in a cabin for 4 nights and really enjoyed it! The location of the campsite is amazing, in a pretty valley close to the lake and surrounded by mountains. From the campsite you can reach various areas with a lot of hiking possibilities (but you sometimes do need to drive a bit). The cabin was cosy and provided us with all basic necessities (although there is no running water in the cabin, you need to walk to the sanitary building for that but we did not mind that at all since it was super close). Howard, the campsite owner, was really nice and even got us coffee in the morning. Overal, we had a very good time.
Tip: ask the campsite owner for hikes in the areas as he is happy to help you out and knows some les touristy but just as spectacular hikes.

The house is located in an amazing valley close by the fjord. In the morning you can enjoy a stunning view on the landscape and the surrounding nature. The apartment is modern inside and the space is perfect for a couple. We decided to have dinner at home and the kitchen was fantastically equipped.
Overlooking the lake of Eidfjordvatnet, this traditional timber-clad property is just 12 km from the spectacular Vøringsfossen waterfall.

We had a lovely 2 nights stay at one of the double rooms with shared bathroom. The bed was comfortable and although the main road is close, the isolation was good and we were not cold. The common bathroom was always clean and the cleaning personell was very friendly and the owner is service-minded in solving problems. The breakfast is really good and plenty, which makes the value of the stay really good. The old museum-like vibes of the breakfast/livingroom are are very cozy. The location is perfect for discovering Hardanger area and the Vidda.

* Very last minute booking on the day around 3-4pm and upon arrival by 6pm our room was ready with no worries.
* Staff were very welcoming, happy to answer any questions regarding our trip and provide suggestions for dinner.
* Breakfast was basic but the 2 ladies worked very well to provide us with bread, yoghurt, cheese omelettes and more...
* Parking was super easy directly in front of the property and the lovely tiny town of Eidfjord was a 10 minute drive away.
