The hotel is ideally located, close to the "shopping mile" where you can find everything, and is very nice and cosy with a nice restaurant and a lovely pub. Breakfast selection in the morning is very varied. The staff is very friendly, nice and helpful. The new years eve menu was delicious and they were really dedicated to make the guests enjoy their evening. I truly enjoyed my stay here and thank you to the staff for their great work.

Longyearbyen seems to be a magnet for humans who find adventure in loving other humans. Nobody is "From" Longyearbyen. But those who venture there become instant family.
Not everyone should even consider visiting. Those who will already know who you are, as you read this. Longyearbyen is not for the faint of heart, nor the shallow of spirit. RD

For both the natural history as well as lesson on the current situation of how global warming is impacting our planet, this is a perfect town to come and visit. The scenery and the geographical isolation makes it incredibly educational and joy to experience, and the scientific value of this community, including the global seat fault just south of the airport, as another value to a trip here. We particularly enjoyed our hotel, and the friendliness and responsiveness of the staff. The people here are incredibly friendly.

Its a small town in the arctic.
Its a small town in the arctic. To be fair theres little to do in the town with it being so small. Theres some nice shops, cafes and restaurants but again only a few as its a small place. The museum is worth a view. But the town is now a base for tourism through the year so a lot of time will be out and about doing the multitude of outdoor activity from northern lights, wildlife, boat tours and snowmobiles and multiple other outdoor activity so as a base its great. People are friendly, its very clean and what shops/cafes etc they have are very good.

Longyearbyen is a fascinating place for two or three days.
Longyearbyen is a fascinating place for two or three days. It is mainly for connecting with Arctic cruise ships,
so there is a commercial-dock side to the town.
They are trying very hard to encourage tourism and everything tourist-related is very efficient and tidy.

The city offers everything for a standard quality life.
The city offers everything for a standard quality life. Several companies offer great tours, for true arctic experiences, accompanied by knowledged guides. The supermarket is surprisingly well stocked, even with fresh fruits and vegetables. Plenty od restaurants for every taste. And don't forget to visit the museum!

If you are active and passionate about the stunning beauty...
If you are active and passionate about the stunning beauty of the Arctic, Longyearbyen should be on your list. By snowmobile, skis, or even by foot, you will discover extreme landscapes, dramatic snow-covered mountains, and glaciers. In March, the colors of the sunset and twilight hours are the dream of any photographer.
Pack your stay with many activities and certainly do not miss out on all the great food that the many restaurants in town have to offer.

Nice middle-sized hotel situated on the main Longyearbyen street, very convenient for shopping, restaurants and exploring the city. Room was comfortable, well equipped with a sofa and small tables, and with a good size bathroom, all of which made it very cosy. Good breakfast buffet, very good hotel restaurant for evening meals. Especially the Whale sashimi with ponzu sauce +wasabi and the Miso marinated catfish were delicious. Helpful and friendly staff.
The Hotel was central to shops and restaurants and our room had great views of the mountains beside and behind Longyearbyen. Buffet breakfast had a big variety of choices and was substantial.
