Nice secluded location, our 1-bedroom apartment had a nice direct view of the harbor/dock. Room was spotless, very spacious bathroom with heated floors, clean & comfortable beds, and daily breakfast was great.

Location is very authentic, close to airport and main Lofoten road. Nice view of the water and mountains. Beds are surprisingly comfortable although tall people can experience some inconvenience. But it’s a European thing!

It was located near a harbour and has balcony view . It was very cozy with all necessary facilities around. Only caveat was, there was only one toilet with shower so if there’s a lot of roommates , good luck. But thankfully I had the dorm to myself and I had a super pleasant stay ! Very cozy. Dark enough area that we were able to see the lights right there. Close enough to Leknes that it was an easy drive to go out to eat.

Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by mountains. It's located right in the center of Lofoten which makes it a great base for those we want to explore the archipelago. Buksnes church is charming and a must see.
Also it's near to Leknes where you can find a lot of stores and supermarkets.
Ballstad will have a special place in our hearts as it was where we saw the most fantastic Aurora show which we were expecting for so long.

Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands.
Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands. We were able to take day trips to the north and south without having to relocate. The location outside of Leknes had easy access to the main road, gas and restaurants if not eating at our hotel - Hattvika Lodge.

There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view...
There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view from the lodge was just okay. It is on the water but overlooks a cod fishing plant which is authentic but there are other towns whereby the view is in a fjord and much nicer to look out to.
Ballstad is convenient as it is a good midway point for the Lofoten Islands but I would recommend other towns to stay in for views and shops and cafes.

Very small town with limited hotel and dining options. You visit Norway for the scenery but driving into Ballstad was one of the least scenic roads we were on. No compelling reason too visit or stay.

Ballstad is a beuatifull fishing village with mighty peaks...
Ballstad is a beuatifull fishing village with mighty peaks just behind the rorbu houses. There are many locations that are truly inspiring for photographers. I am glad I visited this village, it is on par with Henningsvear or Nusfjord in my opinon.

The best accommodation on our trip to Lofoten! Beautiful location, amazing panoramic windows with a view over Ballstad, incredibly clean (so that you understand - the keys were sterilized upon our arrival) and very comfortable till every single detail. The kitchen had all the needed utilities but also everything is new and of good quality. The communication was also very friendly and every single issue (we forgot something) was figured out quickly. I wish we stayed here longer!
Having flown and arrived in Svolvær at 6pm, it took us about 2hours to drive to Ballstad. Mária gladly made arrangements for us to check in between 8-9pm. While showing us to our cabin, Mária also pointed out a barely visible Aurora to us which taught us how to identify auroras when it’s weak. The cabin is warm, clean and quiet. We had a really comfortable stay. Book your dinner at Fangst early as it was full and we missed our chance to dine there.
Welcome was nice. Although our room was a little small, the kitchen was very useful. Bathroom and toilet were pretty good. The bed was comfortable. It was a very nice experience and stay in Lofoten. Location of hotel is good. I regret that a fisherman came to our room in the afternoon and missed the offer of codfish :) Greetings to you fisherman.
