This is a nice, new place in a great location as basecamp for Lofoten daily trips. Supermarkets are within 15 minues easy drive. Beautiful location with great views from the decks.

Lovely little house for a decent price considering it's deep into Lofoten. The host is extremely welcoming and nice. The house has everything you need for cooking and hanging out. There are no luxuries but you know what you're signing up for. I really recommend it!

Great price and good location for us. Basic hostel accommodation but met a good group of like minded travellers.
Great hike up the back to Nonstind. And saw Northern lights on the evening.
I don't understand some of the negative comments - it's a hostel- if you don't like sharing don't stay!

Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands. We were able to take day trips to the north and south without having to relocate. The location outside of Leknes had easy access to the main road, gas and restaurants if not eating at our hotel - Hattvika Lodge.

There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view...
There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view from the lodge was just okay. It is on the water but overlooks a cod fishing plant which is authentic but there are other towns whereby the view is in a fjord and much nicer to look out to.
Ballstad is convenient as it is a good midway point for the Lofoten Islands but I would recommend other towns to stay in for views and shops and cafes.

Very small town with limited hotel and dining options. You visit Norway for the scenery but driving into Ballstad was one of the least scenic roads we were on. No compelling reason too visit or stay.

Ballstad is a beuatifull fishing village with mighty peaks...
Ballstad is a beuatifull fishing village with mighty peaks just behind the rorbu houses. There are many locations that are truly inspiring for photographers. I am glad I visited this village, it is on par with Henningsvear or Nusfjord in my opinon.
We had the Design Studio and it was well done, quiet location, comes with free parking that has EV charging ports. Room size was excellent. Rooms had TV with access to Netflix, Prime and Apple TV if you wanted to take a chill on a rainy day. Breakfast wasn't bad but wasn't great either. Just another boring European breakfast you will see in hotels. Not much to say about the view as its not the bestest part of the Lofoten but its a nice stop if you want to take few days chilled.
We were upgraded to a bigger apartment on the 1st floor with a lovely mezzanine and lots of windows to watch northern lights from the living room! The view from the balcony was virtually 360 degrees around. Ballstad is a great starting point for exploring Lofoten. The hosts were great and very caring. And the bathroom had a great floor heating :)
